jedijeff
For those of us that are planning on getting Oblivion for the PS3, IGN provides some good news: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/762/762108p1.html It's nice to see that Bethesda has used the delay from launch to make real improvements to the game. xenomorpher
I'm glad I read that article. I went to check again for the release date and got irked because it was pushed backed. Pretty happy about the load times, they weren't awful in the 360 version though but annoying.
ManShowBoy
I might have to pick this up.
Shannon
I saw some news somewhere that was saying the PS3 version plays alot smoother and loads quicker than the 360. That alone may be worth price of admission for me. I kinda took a long hiatus from the game anyways. It was sucking away too much time from my real life. jedijeff
For those of you that haven't heard already, the official release date is now March 20, 2007. First we have to wait an extra week for Oblivion to be released, and now we have to wait until April 23rd for the last episodes of Heroes. I told my wife before heroes ended that those suckers were gonna leave us hanging wondering what happened to peter petrelli! Those rats! March 20th? /me starts saving his pennies. Did anyone else notice they showed Heavenly Sword being played full screen for a few seconds during the show? I was pretty surprised they showed that game. AFAIK it's not supposed to be released for quite a while.
Shannon
Yeah a couple small continuity errors there. 1. For someone having trouble making ends meet they sure had no problems buying a $600+ dollar PS3. Which.... 2. Was not technically released in the time period the episode was supposed to take place. 3. Playing a game not meant to be released till a half a year later. But still it was kinda cool seeing that game. I didn't catch it right away because my mind was focused on something else at the time. Nice to see them include current tech in a show, even if it was a little bit "too" current. The next epi of heroes also happens to be in the middle of my vacation. Hopefully my media center wont screw it up. It's been doing weird things lately.
+Random Terrain
So if I want the best Oblivion I have to buy a PS3 now? I'm seriously tempted to just keep buying old Xbox games that cost from 2 to 4 dollars that I haven't played before and forget about the new consoles. There are enough Xbox games out there that I could buy 20 dollars worth of games every month and never run out of 'new' games until the day I die. A friend of mine did that last time it disappeared for 6 weeks.
MegaManFan
Yeah a couple small continuity errors there. 1. For someone having trouble making ends meet they sure had no problems buying a $600+ dollar PS3. You forget that Micah's "gift" is to make any machine do what he wants, so he'd have no problem making an ATM spit out money, not to mention Jessica is on Linderman's payroll doing hits on whoever he wants. 2. Was not technically released in the time period the episode was supposed to take place. Again not a problem for Micah and his "gift" since one could theorize he made his PS3 download a beta right from the developer, or his dad phased through the wall and took one. 3. Playing a game not meant to be released till a half a year later. See 2. These days any episode you miss will be available as a torrent within 24 hours if you know where to look. Unless a show is ridiculously unpopular (and Heroes is one hundred percent the opposite) there's never any such thing as "missing a show" any more ever again whether you Tivo it or not. Shannon
Ahhhhh you're full of it... Yeah I've had to download a torrent a few times. First when I got hooked on the show and wanted to see all the previous episode. Another time when my media center pc screwed up the recording. jedijeff
I received a strange e-mail today stating that the release date of my Oblivion pre-order was changed to 03/14/07?! I was pretty sure the official release date was the 20th but I guess I'll just have to see what happens.
jedijeff
Still waiting to get mine in the mail. Anybody have some initial thoughts on the PS3 version or are you too busy playing?
xenomorpher
I'll have to buy this sometime this week. I forgot about it really. I've been caught up building a computer and well Oblivion on the 360.
Shannon
It's out. So what are the new guilds you're supposed to be able to join? I'm guessing they are part of the Knights expansion part?
Hyper_Eye
The patch to add the distance fixes and load time fixes (as well as other bugs) was released for 360 today. I believe these are the same fixes that were applied to the PS3 release. I am glad 360 users aren't being left in the cold on these improvements. Oh yeah... 3 days to SI! Shannon
Drat! Those dogs... I picked up the PS3 version for the improved distance and load time fixes... Guess I'll have to hook the 'ol 360 up to the net and download those fixes.
