Jess Ragan
http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=15399 After five years of legal battles with Immersion, Sony has finally come to an understanding with the company responsible for force-feedback technology. They'll be paying Immersion two million dollars every three months, for the next two years. In return, Immersion is sharing their tech with Sony, which will likely be included in a future version of the SIXAXIS controller. Gregory DG
LOL, wonder how Sony will spin this when rumble appears in the controller after saying it was old technology?

Albert
LOL, wonder how Sony will spin this when rumble appears in the controller after saying it was old technology? Yeah, really, they should have just been honest and said they didn't want to pay royalties. Of course, now they will spin it in some other direction and come up with more BS as to why they are adding it back. Game developers will probably mostly ignore the feature, since it won't be in any of the controllers sold with the PS3 thus far (and probably for some time, depending on how quickly they update the controller). ..Al
Jess Ragan
It's an important moment for gamers, though. Instead of Sony's past attitude that whatever they give the customers is what they want (or will learn to accept), they're actually addressing the concerns of prospective Playstation 3 owners. They're finally starting to understand that the leadership of the video game industry is not an inalienable right, but something that must be earned through competition and customer satisfaction. Gabriel
In return, Immersion is sharing their tech with Sony, which will likely be included in a future version of the SIXAXIS controller. I hope not. $50 a controller is already bad enough. I don't want to pay $60 per replacement controller for an additional feature which no one wants. +remowilliams
Yeah, really, they should have just been honest and said they didn't want to pay royalties. Yeah, you'd think so. Their excuses were beyond stupid. Especially those that leaned towards the 'no room in the controller end' I can pick up the damn Sixaxis and hold it up to a light and see all the empty space in there! Clearly some people want it, given all the flack Sony's gotten about it. I certainly do. Just ain't the same without some sort of tactile feedback. You can pretty much guarantee that this is the spin Sony will put on it whenever it does happen. I guess we'll have to judge them on future actions as to whether it is just spin, or as Jess suggests, the beginning of a new attitude at Sony. jedijeff
As far as I'm concerned you can take rumble and shove it up your a$$.
Bilnick
I like the rumble feature in controllers. It would be nice if they could have motion sensing and rumble.

Shannon
Bah! It's just yesterdays technology. Glad to see it back, hopefully they will update the controllers quickly. Although it never happened with the PS2. I believe the PS1 had one or two controller updates that pretty much became the norm. Or was it just one controller update with two changes (dual analog, and rumble)?
