Mendon
During the first three months of my PS3 ownership, there were only a couple of games released in the stores that I was really interested in. So to fill the void until Motorstorm (EXCELLENT GAME) and Oblivion were released, I found myself hitting the PS Store and downloading some of the games from there. I've gotten the following games so far: Q*bert: enjoy the game and think its an excellent conversion of the coin-op. I just wish I was better at it. My goal is to break into the top 100 on the leaderboards but I don't know if I can achieve the 75,000 points currently necessary to do so as I'm stuck at around 40,000. Cash, Guns, Chaos: many call it a "poor man's" Smash TV. Maybe so, but I enjoy the game ALOT. And I really like the music in the game. Only complaint I have is there are some cheap deaths due to enemies falling out of the sky and landing right on top of you. Blast Factor: another "poor man's" game, this time Geometry Wars. I happen to be a big fan of GW and I'm a big fan of BF. Both are excellent games, IMO. And I especially like the motion feature within the game as it add's to the strategy of the game. Lemmings: what can you say about any Lemmings game other than GREAT!. And the control set-up is very well done and makes using the Six-axis a snap. flOw: the only "game" I regret purchasing. I just don't get the concept and probably never will. Everyone says flOw is not a game but a method of relaxation. Well, if I want to relax, I'll have a beer while sitting in my La-Z-Boy watching Jerry Springer! Grip Shift: don't ask me why... I just like this game. For me, its one of the best games to play when you only have a couple minutes of game time available to you... nothing involved or intense. Trying to make the leaderboards, finding the secrets, beating my previous times, and just having FUN. I also have Gran Turismo HD but that's a FREEBIE. So... what games have other people here bought and what do you think of them? Mendon
Gabriel
I've bought: Blast Factor + the Multiplayer Pack = Is the multiplayer pack now included with the basic game download? I can't find it on the store anymore. Anyway, I love Blast Factor. It isn't quite as good as Geometry Wars, but it's a close second. It's a solid omni-directional blaster and zoner. Q-Bert = I didn't like this game back in the day, but as an adult, I find I really enjoy it. I'm at the skill level where a game is short enough that I can squeeze it in when I don't have time for a prolonged game, and I'm just good enough so the game can last the minimum amount of time required for the game to feel satisfying. Tekken: Dark Resurrection = This one is great. I wish it had a practice feature, but it's otherwise perfect. I'll definitely be buying Mortal Kombat II. It's my favorite 2D fighter of all time. I just wish Sony would hurry the fuck up and make it available. I played the demo of Cash, Guns, Chaos and decided I really didn't like it (the crappy music really helped with that decision). Flow doesn't look very interesting to me. I'm also not too clear on what its supposed to be. Is it 3D Feeding Frenzy/Shark, Shark?
Shannon
Lemmings, and Q*bert. I toyed with the idea of getting Tekken, but I'm not really a fighter fan.
jedijeff
The only one I bought so far was Flow, just to see how well the motion control works. I have to say, it actually works pretty well. A few others look interesting to me, but I really need to finish (and in some cases start ) quite a few PS and PS2 games. I will probably get Gauntlet 2 whenever that finally gets released. Oblivion comes out this week so it's not like I'll be bored.
cimerians
Flow is actually pretty cool once you learn it. I got that and Q-Bert.
Bucket
I downloaded a few demos and GTHD. Damn, those graphics are impressive. They already look on par with PGR3; I can't wait to see how the official release looks.
Video
Love Qbert and Lemmings myself. Lemmings: what can you say about any Lemmings game other than GREAT!. And the control set-up is very well done and makes using the Six-axis a snap. Tried the GameBoy Color Version? (somehow, they seriously screwed that one over)
Shannon
Anyone try to beat the best online times in lemmings. Those numbers are insane!!!
Bucket
I don't see how it's even possible to get that time for Level 1.
Shannon
I think it is a cross between pure luck and just really good timing. But ultimately I do not have the time to play the level a gazillion times just to get in the top 100.
