Kicking a pest off a floor - 800 points Kicking Slipice off a floor - 800 points Bonus Wafer - 800 points Bonus coin - 800 points Punching Slipice - 500 points Hints and Tips As always, you really should read the manual. In case you don't have the manual, AtariAge has a typed copy available online. Here are the hints it provides: * Use your POW switch when there is more than one pest on the screen. * Watch out for the last pest on the screen--it will speed up and be much harder to punch. * Try to hit a Sidestepper two times as quickly as possible. If you're fast, you can flip it over before it scurries off to a different level. * Learn the fastest routs to pick up coins during a coin phase * You'll earn more points for kicking rather than punching Slipice. Slipice always stops on the lowest unfrozen floor. Wait for him to stop, then kick him off before he freezes the floor. Also check out the last time we played Mario Bros for lots more hints! My advice is to take your time - the baddies come out real slow at the beginning, but you're better off waiting until they're just on the edge before punching them. This gives you more reaction time to avoid the fireballs. Also, make coins your priority if you're playing for a high score - enemies return but coins do not. Tips: During certain rounds, the fireballs only appear on 3 of the 4 floors, use this to your advantage. Use the left and right exits to avoid the fireballs. --Zero

Captain Beard
My tip: Read this link. My score (so far): 111,700 Edited May 26, 2007 by Captain Beard
Deteacher
68,600. I guess Captain Beard gets the +2 for tips this week. I was going to say that I noticed that only 1 enemy can be on a level at a time and use that to your advantage, but that's in there too. gospeedde
49,600 I'm back. I know you missed my paltry scores. I hate this game because I keep jumping straight up and down on accident. It gets me killed off at a relatively consistent rate. On the other hand, it is a good excuse for swearing.
toymailman
My score so far...235,800 93,700. Oops, I just read that the constant SlipIce punching at the end of the later rounds is discouraged. Please scratch the old score and replace with the new one. I actually tried to see how high of a score I could get by using this tatic. I got over 500,000! I found there is not an infinite supply of SlipIce. It seems each round is limited to about 256 of them. Gets real boring, but does end eventually. +atari2600land
I could score more, but this game is stupid. I usually lose a life by "reanimating" dead things, getting touched by the fire ball, or some other stupid way. Is this a game that's supposedly better on the Colecovision (like the 2600 Donkey Kong)?
godzillajoe
You know I find Space Invaders is stupid too. I usually lose a life by running into their shots. Anyway, been a while since I played this one. It's ahem "different" to put it politely Especially after playing the 7800 version for so long I know people hate that the fireballs are ever present but with only one enemy allowed per horizontal plane, they're sorta necessary to keep the game from benig way too easy My best so far is 94,500, I'll post a pic if that ends up being my high. Ze_ro
I guess Captain Beard gets the +2 for tips this week. Well, none of the tips in the old thread were technically from him, so... Is this a game that's supposedly better on the Colecovision (like the 2600 Donkey Kong)? There never was a ColecoVision version of this one. I guess Atari managed to get the rights to it before Coleco did. --Zero

toymailman
A little better than before: 104,400. It gets really hard when the fireballs no longer have a delay. Can't avoid them fast enough, argh! My best by punching SlipeIce until they run out: 516,100. I actually can't keep playing forever by using this technique. Once the SlipIce runs out then I have to advance to the next level. By wave 12 or 13 the game is still just as hard, just the score is higher. I suppose the way to get the most of of this would be to not puch them and rather let them start to melt, kick 'em, and then get the wafer. That would be 1600 points for each instead of the 500 for a punch.
Deteacher
135,000. I actually got past level 13. What's so frustrating about this game is that I can get through the first 9 levels without losing a life. I'll go into level 10 with 7 or 8 lives and I'll burn through 2 or 3 per level because of those fireballs.

Crazy Climber
134,900 - Not a personal best or anything but probably will be my best entry....unless I kind find more time quick I absolutely hate how they occasionally start a fireball right in the lower left starting point at the beggining of a level

Shroo-man
this game is my 2600 strong point, had it since about 1990. hehe, read and weep. no tricks used just getting through each level as quickly as possible whilst avoiding losing lives. im sure this will inspire someone to beat my score though ... btw does the screen bending thing occur for anyone else? anyone know what causes it? it happens to basically all consoles for me and even on different TVs Edited May 30, 2007 by Shroo-man
