For example rolling Space Invaders on game 1, difficulty B is one thing. Rolling Space Invaders on game 16, any difficulty is another thing altogether! For example on Asteroids, did you play with Saucers enabled? Did you play with an extra life at 5000? 10,000? 20,000? Did you play with Shields? Hyperspace? Or Flip? Did you play the slow or fast version (also known as the up/down vs. the angled asteroid path version)? Not that it really matters and it's not a competition or anything, but those details are what make it compelling! I finally realized that the game was never going to end unless I turned the damn thing off. It had been a few hours, which is a hell of a long time to spend on one VCS game, so I had to sacrifice the six cities to a storm of TV screen snow. Anyway, as NE has indicated, you truly can play some games forever if you select the easiest possible combination of game-play aspects -- and if you're so inclined to spend all that time!
