WTB Custom TI-99/4A Project

Hi, I am hoping to be able to pay someone to try the following project for me:

Making a TI-99/4A modded for S-video output.

I don’t think this has ever been done yet, but I have a link to a thread in this forum where this issue is discussed, and it certainly looks do-able.

I would be more than happy to send you whatever parts you need, including the TI console, of course.

I would like to get an idea if anyone is willing to try and take this on.

At the moment I am only willing to pay for this at a flat fee rate, one amount if you are successful, and another if you are unable to do it. So this probably only makes sense to someone who is fascinated by this project.

I realize that asking for a flat rate limits who may be willing to try this, so someday if someone does it successfully and has published how, I would then be more likely to accept hourly rates.

Anyway, if this project tickles anyone’s fancy, offer me what you’d want if you are successful and what you would want if you are unable to do it. Depending on how much you want, I will probably want references.

Here is the information I found about a possible way of doing this:

The discussion is found on this forum at

http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...105191&st=0

To give credit: This thread is all over the place, but most of the actual discussion of doing this mod is by Tursi and djpubba.

I am sorry, I wasn’t very clear as to exactly what I wanted to do for this mod.

I did not mean to come across like I wanted someone to “invent” a way to do this. I have a very specific procedure that I am looking to have someone try and see if it works or not.

What I want to try is swapping the TI’s 9918A with a 9928 then doing a video mod for S-video output.

8bitdomain's CV video mod is probably easiest, but I’m guessing that a custom A/V mod would work too. I can order the 9928 from http://www.arcadechips.com/product_info.php?products_id=85

The reason for the swap is that for NTSC, the Ti’s 9918A outputs composite video directly, while the The 9928 outputs a form of component.

Sorry for the confusion.
