kisrael
Has anyone played with the vg pocket caplet? I see a few references here and there. The retail price is $20, but I got it at costco for 15. The screen is legitmatelyimpressive (with A/V out!) and the games are solid...decent little ports of burgertime, bust-a-move, space invaders, and some others, including versions of zuma, and buster bros, and some other ones. Grapically it's roughly SNES/Genesis, though feeling a bit sharewarey in places... sometimes there's a nice vintage Capcom feel to the graphics. Student Driver
This thread features most of the discussion that's occurred regarding the Caplet: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83939
TwinChargers
Being an owner of both the Tablet and the Caplet, I find both to be of very decent quality. If you ever find the A/V cord that you hook up to the thing, let me know, cause I've had poor luck finding one. How these didn't sell better than what they did puzzles me. Can't wait til we get our portable 2600 hopefully something simular to this.

So I had to buy the accessory kit for the smaller caplet(circular one) to get the cable. Now I have a non-fitting carrying case. Anyone up for trade? A Sprite
I bought both, they make great stuffing stockers. How these didn't sell better than what they did puzzles me. "Space Invaders II" not the best mascot game. Pastels? D-pad suffers from rigor mortis. There's another version of the 16 bitter that's missing all the really good pirated games. ( Okay, technically a few are more than graphics hacks) Guess which one is reviewed on youtube? Nobody can take screenshots. We look like suckers when we try to convince people it's better than it sounds... Edited December 25, 2007 by A Sprite
Jess Ragan
Yeah... I have the A/V cable (pulled it from an earlier VG Pocket product, the lackluster Max) and it won't work with my DVR, although it connects just fine to my monitor. Frustrating? You betcha, especially since I had plans to put the footage up on my YouTube page.

Heh, even the screenshots they put on the extra Costco packaging had bizarre JPEG artifacts!
vrocko
Hey all I just saw the VG tablet at my local Gamestop for $9.99, that's the 50 game version. Looks cool. I may have to have one seeing as how it has Burgertime. Rich

It was in a clearance bin at Circuit City for $5. Now I can play all the Tablet and Caplet goodness on my TV and get a nice carrying case for the Tablet to boot!! Anybody else find the VG Pocket in the last few months?
FastRobPlus
I got 2 of the 25-gamfe units to give my sons as stocking stuffers over Xmas. They both love them. My wife loves yummy-and-tasty or whatever the princess/cake puzzle game is called. I agree that the screen is really, really nice for the price. The dpad on the other hand is awful. Games that need pixel-pefect turns like Burger Time are really unplayable, and that's a shame.
