Boulder Dash® preorder list

Recommended Posts

As you may know, I recently made an announcement that Boulder Dash® may be headed for a Chirstmas 2008 release. The ball is in my court to overcome a few programming issues, but I'm not particularly worried about those.

So assuming there's a limited release of Boulder Dash® coming this Christmas 2008... let's say a massive 200 numbered copies and that's the end of the run. I'd like to see just how (pre)orders might stack up. Let's imagine a $60/cart price (this is NOT an official order list, well maybe, and most definitely NOT an official price). But assume, $60/cart (still way cheaper than a certain picture cart!!).

Please post a reply with the #(s) you wish to "reserve". I'll update the list with your name beside the cart number. Then at some point in the future I'll announce that this IS the official preorder page (no money down, of course) and you'll get an option to buy those #s you selected before anyone else below you for each number. HOWEVER, if you decline any ONE of the #s you reserve, then you will get NONE of them; they will be offered to the 2nd/3rd etc. person who reserved a particular number. So, three people for example might reserve cartridge #26. They will all be recorded. Cart will be offered to the first person (who also placed an order for 10 other numbers). First person declines, then all 10 of his preorders are dumped. Second person on the list for cart 26 is then offered #26. He accepts, then that cart is tentatively assigned to him. HOWEVER (there's always one with me) if that person has also reserved other cart numbers then we have to wait and see how he/she fares as further offers go out. If that person "wins" cart 26, but declines an offer of cart 50 which comes about because the cart 50 person in front of him has been knocked out, then he/she is ALSO knocked out and no longer gets cart 26, or any other cart for that matter!

To put that simply, only order what you're prepared to actually buy. If you order more than you are willing to buy, you get none. You may order a particular number that's already been ordered, and you will be placed in line for that number. If you don't specify a cart number(s) then I'll assign your order to the least-wanted numbers. For any cart number, if those ahead of you default, then you will be offered that number. But remember, all or nothing!

You guys can have fun getting in early, then trading your position on the order list on the official AtariAge stock trading page.

PS: I do like the "all or nothing" ordering idea, above. But the real thing I'm trying to do is get your input on how many cartridges are realistically likely to sell "up front" with a $60 price tag. Be careful what you ask for, because I may very well apply the "all or nothing" rule :) It's in your best interests to keep your orders realistic.

Cheers

I'll take #81 please!

My preference would of been 69 but that was taken early and my wife recommended 96 and then laughed herself up to bed saying can you picture it but I would like to go with my birth year of 79' also a good smashing pumpkins song... so to be clear 79 unless for some reason 69 would become available ;-)
