toymailman
A hair better here too! Alas, not enough though. 151,560 I made it to Level 19, but couldn't get to the "Pro" levels (20+ according to the manual). Looking forward to next week's game and then on to all the suggestions people recently gave Ze_ro.
toymailman
Oh, a couple last minute tips too. Try playing games 2, 3, and 4. These start you at higher levels. It is a great way to practice them. This way you are not "blind-sided" when you finally advance there beginning from Level 1. I found just learning/memorizing the levels and doing them quickly is one of the best ways to score high points. Another tip (sorta) that worked for me was to push myself on every level to see if I could do it faster than previous attempts. I tracked this by writing down my best accumulative score after each level. Every time I played I always tried to beat this. It was a good motivator and maximized my points on the earlier (and therefore easier) levels. This is what I ended up with for the initial levels. 1: 2935 2: 7485 3: 13420 4: 20340 5: 28000 6: 36015 7: 44185 8: 53975 9: 64665 10: 76225 11: 87155 12: 100435 13: 112455 14: 121155 This was all done by not losing a life or not finishing and getting to do the level again. I never made it past level 15 without either of these happening so I did not put them up.
Gemini
*checks the time* Ok, I'm not too late. I managed to pass the patch level, but I still didn't break the 100,000 mark. Oh well. My new high score = 92,020 Also, I know it's a bit late to suggest this, but a good challenge for an extra point or two would've been to get to level 5 with four lives. You basically have to speedrun the first four levels to do it. Edited January 30, 2008 by Gemini
Captain Beard
Thanks for posting that score breakdown, Toymailman! And nice score, too!
homerwannabee
Yes it is 1:02 central time and I have won the H.E.R.O. competition. Pretty happy since it is the 6th most popular game as voted by Atariage members.

aftermac
I do believe I had the best score NOT to break 100,000... which should give me a second straight top 5 finish! Nice job homer, that score is ridiculous!
Ze_ro
Well, that's the end of this weeks edition of the High Score Club! I hope you all had fun with H.E.R.O.! By the way, the little icons next to people's scores there is actually the image of the H.E.R.O. patch... you can right click it and choose "View Image" and get the full sized version. Unfortunately, it loses most of it's detail when scaled down to 12 pixels (Sorry Goochman, you missed the deadline) --Zero
+Nathan Strum
I'm very pleased with 3rd place. I've been out of the HSC for weeks, so I'll take that any day.
