That's the problem when you have a library as large as the 2600's. Tempest

Big Player
The Atari 7800 version of Food Fight is a very good port. The graphics are bright and colorful, and the gameplay is pretty much exactly the same as its arcade counterpart (only losing the trackball). Did some versions of the Food Fight arcade game have a trackball? The ones that I played all had joystick controls.

Apparently yes, or so I read. I've personally never seen one though. Tempest
+Psionic
Apparently yes, or so I read. I've personally never seen one though. Interesting. Both arcade flyers released for the game show analog joystick control... http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&a...eodb&id=408 http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&a...odb&id=4817 But a quick Google search yields a few references to trackball controls... http://archive.gamespy.com/legacy/top10/trackball_a.shtm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_Fight ...GameSpy includes it in their list of "Top Ten Trackball Games" and the Wikipedia article mentions that the game originally had trackball controls (claim is not sourced). I dunno...until I see a picture or something from a concrete source, I'm inclined to think this is a rumor that people are running with based on someone thinking that they saw one with a trackball. Tempest
You know I could have sworn I played it with a trackball once (and found it really hard), but that could just be my memory playing tricks on me. I should probably change my page until I'm 100% sure. Tempest

I should probably change my page until I'm 100% sure. The way that segment of the Wikipedia article is worded makes it sound as if it was originally offered as a conversion kit for trackball machines (Centipede, etc.) but used joystick controls when sold in dedicated form (a ROM swap is mentioned). If that's the case, there should be two ROM sets floating around out there...one for each control method...no?
