Here's a quick question. When I compile it, why doesn't it tell me how many bytes I have left in bank 8? Does it matter that I'm using the lives counter & status bar or not?

I've begin working on this again, although this is kind of a hectic time with me moving to a new house & all. Added two screens.

New version. Starts at level 4, which is a swimming world, so I need a sprite of him swimming. Right difficulty A starts at level 3, right difficulty B starts at 4. I just got the mechanics of level 4 going, so I haven't put in any enemies yet.

Been working on simplifying the code a little, and I ran into a problem: Pressing fire doesn't make you go up on level 4. Any ideas why?

Problems solved. New version. Have the right difficulty switch set to A to start from the beginning. Otherwise, you'll start at level 4 (the swimming level.) How is the swimming? Is it OK, or should I ditch it and think up of something like the past 3 levels?

Looks like interest in this game is decreasing. Can someone besides gambler comment on the game so far?

It's a good release, no doubt. Unfortunatly not many people are giving feedback and almost every author of programs is suffering from the same problems. Nevertheless, keep up the great work!

Great game! Really fun to play, I can't wait till it gets more levels/features. By the way I quite liked the screen that someone made, the one with the pigs with wings and Phillip getting owned by a pig. Also I wrote a wiki article about it here http://www.homebrewg...nce_and_Phillip

Feel free to improve upon it if you like!

I'm back to working on this. The swimming code was very buggy so I replaced it with a cloud world. There are 2 screens so far in it.

New version. Direction facing problem fixed, two new screens added.
edit: Newer version (41) makes the first new screen easier.

Thank you for the kind words on this game. Added two new screens. the first one (the one with the red "smart" pig) is tough, but still beatable. I always check screens to see if they're beatable or not before I post them up here. Right now the game is around 70% complete. Right now the toughest thing to do is create new screens. And once I'm done with level 4, there will be a level 5 and then it will end.
What I have planned for the ending screens (if I have enough room left): After you get past the final big boss (a big pig), Phillip will come out while the Canadian national anthem plays and hug Terrance. Then, another screen will display "THE END" in pfblocks, then fade to black, then go back to the title screen. But I'm still about a couple months away from programming that.

One thing I would like to see is for the Game Start switch to start a new game (just as the joystick does).

Game Select should restart the game (at the title screen). Game Start should start the game (as should pressing the joystick).

New version.
+Put the ending in. To see it, at the title screen, have the right difficulty switch be A.
+Put two new screens in level 4.
+if the right difficulty switch is B, you will start at level 4.
Once level 4 is finished, it will justify the cart having 32k (the game itself will be around 17k.)
