espire8
Is there a commented disasembely of the 2600 game E.T. posted anywhere in the forums that I can be pointed to look at? I'm trying to find the part of the code that has the looping theme music that plays in the title screen for an old hack I'd like to soon finish. doctorclu
I have seen so many 2600 games disassmebled. How does the disassembly work?

CobaltHex
assembly is just a text representation of machine instructions(machine code), when you disassemble it, you just turn those instructions back into assembly
Nukey Shay
BTW the icons that appear in the pits (the animated flower and phone pieces that resemble the author's initials) are scrambled bitmaps. There are 2 groups of data for each icon that are sent to alternating scanlines. Check this thread that details how the bitmaps are arranged if you want to change them. The game Alien uses this method for ALL of it's icons.
