+LS650
Hi... I am thinking of getting back into 8-bits for gaming. I used to have a 400, followed by an 800XL, and I remember that it had a ton of great arcade-style games. I'm just going to stick to playing cartridge games, so any working 8-bit will do: 400, 600XL, XE/XEGS, whatever, as long as it is working with power supply and hopefully a few commons. There are plenty on eBay, but the vast majority are in the USA. I want a system in Canada so I don't have to deal with Customs, duty, taxes, etc. I tried searching on eBay for 8-bits in Canada and found only one XEGS for $50 plus shipping, which I thought was quite high. (Yes, I am a cheap SOB). Give me a shout if you can help me out.... - LS650

madhatter667
I'd say that $50 isn't too bad for the machine, as long as it is in good shape and working. myatari.com sells refurbs for $50. Though they are based in the USA as well. Shipping time has been a little slow with them, but it is a two person operation. I've never had any problems with their goods or services. +LS650
I might just do that. The XEGS auction I mentioned received zero bids at $50. After the auction ended on Saturday, I wrote Sunday morning to the seller and asked if he wanted to sell it. No response, but I noticed Sunday night that he reposted the auction - and raised his opening bid to $59. Screw that!
