OK the long, sappy story:

Bought a modded Flashback 2 from a member here and it arrived earlier this week. Played it for a bit and enjoyed it, and then decided to dig in the attic and found my old stash of 2600 games from when I was a child.

As I playing for a little while, my 7 year old came into the room and saw me playing these archaic games. He LOVES watching people play video games, but because of all the buttons and complexity of the systems nowadays, he doesn't like to play too much.

right in the middle of a game he asked to try Combat, so we plugged it in... and then the magic happened.

For the first time ever we were playing each other and just having the time of our lives... He could pick up a game and immediately be able to play me without having to watch for 20 minutes or memorize any button combinations.

What made the moment particularly amazing was that we were using MY EXACT SAME CARTS that gave me so much fun at that age.

He didn't care about the graphics, or the sound, we were just 2 little kids having fun playing video games in the living room.

Thinking back on the moment, I actually tear up a bit with joy. It was a very amazing moment of my life... one of those things that will stay with me till the end of my life. Having him playing my old games and getting the same joy out of them it felt very much like a "passing of the torch" moment in my life...

So, after all of that being said, I compiled a list of games above that I either owned or loved at that age that I wanted to get for him to play. I am sure most of them are commons since I didn't have any particularly rare games.

This collection is meant to be PLAYED BY A 7 YEAR OLD. I don't need boxed and pristine copies. As long as they play and the labels are in decent shape I am definitely interested. and of course I am open to suggestion for other fun games as well.

I do not have a lot of money right now, as there have been a lot of sudden expenses in my life. But any fair offers are welcome. If anyone is feeling particularly generous (or looking to clean up their collections) and offering freebies I will gladly pay for shipping.

This is is going towards creating a new gamer who is 7 who will appreciate and enjoy the games that we have all grown up with and loved.

Thanks to anyone who can help out with this project.

Hey Feisty, I have many of the games on your list. Take a look at my trade list in my profile. I will let you have anything on your want list for $1 per cart plus shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

Love the story BTW - Kids Rock! I just sold a system this week to a grandmother who plays with her grandkids. Spent a good bit of time on the phone making sure she got some good games. Love to see folks passing the torch, so to speak.
