This one on the otherhand was a cover up. There was a cross underneath the water. The Cross looked OK but it was obviously an amatuer. I think the Serpent looks much better, it was a LOT more then $60 though - lol

The reaper is kinda half quality but that serpent looks wicked. What that one set you back $250ish?? My half sleeve is gonna cost me $600 but then agian it would be closer to $1k for anyone else.

I would be interested in seeing the art when it's done, and of course the tat once it's in the works as well. I agree with the others though, the original list was way way too long for such a small spot. I'm not crazy about the hodgepodge of characters you are still interested in, but that's your call. I think a half sleeve of just spider-man or one of the others where you could use characters from one specific comic, spider-man vs venom or green goblin is wicked too, fighting one another, around your arm. But spider-man & my little pony I just don't get.

Thanks man, I think I ended up paying around $400 since he had to go over the cross so many times to cover it up. It ended up taking like 8 hours to finish. Very painful on the collar bone! $1000 for a sleeve sounds like a GOOD price to me, $600 is crazy cheap!

In other news, I got this tat yesterday.

Translated to english from ancient greek it says "Barbarian". My friends and family say I would have been much better suited for that period in time as I'm known to act like what they think of a barbarian...lol..

I'm getting a Mad magazine fold-in tattooed on my pecker. It's like getting two tattoos for the price of one.

I created it with the barcode font, CPUWIZ is what I typed, so 227894 encodes to CPUWIZ just like 898269 is Tecate. :D

$25 for an original design and then the tattoo dude gets $600?! Someone is getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop...

I am a graphic artist by profession, and in the professional art world $25 might buy you a small pencil sketch. If you are charging $25, expect $25 quality art. Good luck ;)

The design was never finished so I never got the tattoo. I have sense my last post in this thread got a few more tattoo's though. I'll upload some pics another time. One is the portait "All Is Vanity" another big one is "Empty handed way" in kanji which in japanese translates to Kara-Te-Do and I also got my elbow and surrounding area covered in a Shotokan Tiger.

Cool, I'd like to see the pics :) I don't think tats would suit me, but I think some people really look cool with them. The girl on my avatar has quite a lot of tatoos (although only little ones).

These are the couple I've got in the last 6 or 7 months, All is Vanity covers most of my left forearm from elbow to wrist, Empty Handed Way kanji covers near the rest of it, I plan on getting some smoke and broken bricks added in the new year to tie it up an cover the rest of the uninked skin. Shotokan tiger covers left elbow area, tree frog covers right elbow area. Hard to take pics of your own arms, I could take pics of my other tats another time as I have close to full sleeves on both arms.

As a side note, I have started to wonder about some rap artist with their whole bodies covered in tattoos by the time they are 25. How are they going to continue to get their tattoo fix since they have no more space. I can imagine them thinking about getting this great tattoo, and feeling frustrated because they have nowhere else to put one.

Cartoons, bands, names, and video-game related stuff is never a good idea for a tattoo.

If they prefer one idea over another they have the money for laser removal to give them more canvas to work on.
