The next Amiga meeting will be on December 15th, 7:00 at the South Grand Prarie Library.

http://www.amigamccc.org/

I'm not much of a Amiga user myself, but I like hanging out with them. They are a lot of fun, and it is interesting to see what they do with the new Amiga stuff.

So what other user groups are out there? Would love to come visit.

Sorry that I did not get this message out earlier, but I was trying
to line up the program for January. I have sent Ron Dillard two
emails asking if he would be interested in coming in January and
showing us his video toaster demos, but I have not heard anything
from him, so I guess we will have to come up with our own plans.

Our next meeteing is scheduled for Monday, January 2, from 7:00
to 9:00 PM at the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport.

I guess my plan at the moment is to continue with our attempts
to install OS3.9 on Greg's A1200 from compact flash, and I think
I have a plan:
I should have thought of this at the meeting, but I think the next
thing to try with Greg's A1200 is to boot up with the emergency
floppy and then run the PCMCIA floppy that has the flash card's
driver stuff on it. This should put the necessary flash card
stuff on the boot disk (the emergency floppy) and then we
should have access to the OS3.9 ISO image on the flash card
when booting from the emergency floppy. I'm not sure how
much free space is on the emergency floppy, but I'm good at
deleting absolutely unnecessary stuff when needed to make
room for things.

Ron Dillard will be showing us what he has been doing. He has been

3D. He is on a tower case for this 2000, didn't know it was going to
be such pain to make one work.

Just a reminder that tonight we will have Nik Kinze bring in a lot of Amiga stuff for sale.

More about what is being sold....

"Here are some pictures of what I have.

https://www.facebook.com/Nikolas.kinze/media_set?set=a.10208495999138514.1073741825.1263585772&type=3&pnref=story

if the link does not work, my profile is public, so all you need to do is look for me on Facebook, I have a join request for your Facebook group, and peruse the Amiga album of photos

These formerly belonged to a gentleman named James Bruner. He was a former Hollywood director, originally from Kerens, TX.
I think that I have about 600-800 lbs of hardware, books, and diskettes. He had copies, working copies, originals, Backups, and I just don't have the time to go through and catalog everything. I already spent all day Saturday and half the day yesterday trying to do that.
there are a bunch of the Fred Fish catalog diskettes(probably all of them, that guy was great), and a bunch marked MCCC and numbered, was Jim a member of your association in the past? He was 83 when he passed in October.

All I know for sure is that all of them except the 2000 run. I think it has been cannibalized in the past.
Not listed, is what appears to be an OLD PC, with Kitchen Sync hardware. I guess he had multiple Toasters setup for processing"

And tonight's meeting will be live streamed here...

Well, I am close by, but I think I have too much stuff already and have really tried to avoid classic computer collecting. Still, I should show up to one of these some day.

I don't know if I understand your comments about facebook. Do you have a facebook group that I can join?

That was the haul. :D For the future readers, here is what the link said:

"I have multiple pieces for sale.
1- Video Toaster 4000, with Emplant card and VGA card. There are two IDE disks in the system as well.
It boots and runs great.
I have 2 Amiga monitors, both work.
1- Amiga 2000 boots up.
1- Amiga 1000 in box rarely used.
Thousands, (seriously) of diskettes with software
Dozens of operators manuals
1-3070 tape drive
Amilink, lots of extras

Please, serious inquiries only
Way too much to list it all. Really a truckload of goodies!"

Pictures attached in compressed file.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 3, from 7:00 to
9:00 PM at the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport. Unless anyone
else has any ideas for the meeting, I think the plan is to play
around with my A1200 and the new accelerator card that I have
on it (this is the ACA1233n card from Individual Computers). We
can turn the accelerator on and off and compare response and
some other things.
