Wanted: Star Fire lookalikes

Hi there!

While researching about 3D Space shooting games, I found some 30+ available on the C64, but I'm having a hard time to find some for the ol' Ataris.

Do you know any of them?

So far I found only ports of the "Star Wars" arcade and of course of "Star Fire" itself.

Greetings,

Manuel

Yes- Star Riders by Paul Lay, a type-in from Page 6/ New Atari User magazine.

Not technically a space game but what about Paul Woake's Encounter (and another magazine type-in version called Deathzone)? And, of course, Star Raiders, the daddy of the 3D shoot-em ups.

(all games are at http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/atari/ )

Hi Avram!

Thanks for sugesting these! I just finished checking them all.

The top 5 Atari 8-Bit Star Fire lookalikes so far are:

Star Fire :D

Star Raiders

Star Wars

Star Raiders 2

Star Riders

I especially liked the 'firing' animation in Star Raiders. Hm... are there tools available that allow ripping sprite graphics on the 8 bitters?

I think I'll continue the research part in the classic forum now...

Greetings,

Manuel
