I noticed that a thread was started about an Adventure mod for Quake3.  I think its great that people are recreating their old favorites in a new engine, especially while giving it their own twist.

Last year some friends and I released COMBAT for Quake3 while at Quakecon 2001.  Its a small download, and its great to play at lans.  If anyone wants to give it a try, the website address is http://combat.mindgrid.net.  Some of you may already have it, as it was on a few cover cd's for European game magazines.

As a side note, I'll be releasing the source code to it soon, as I just received an e-mail from another team who is planning on doing Bomberman for Quake3 and they wanted to check it out.  Check the website for details within the next two weeks.

Thanks for the information, I'll try it out tomorrow, the screenshots look like fun.  Any good public servers running your mod?

Unfortunately not.  The single room maps are best played with 2 to 4 people, and setting up a server for just 4 people isnt something most administrators are willing to do.  Also, having fully working bot support probably didnt help, though its still fun to play (not as fun as human opponents).

To expand a bit on the gameplay, there are single room maps, multiple room maps (with a scrolling camera), and a capture the flag map with a player following camera.  One of the mappers whipped up another CTF map while we were in the lan at Quakecon2002 just a few weeks back.  I'll see what I can do about putting that up on the website as well.
