segasaturn
Yeah, definitly. Do you mean games? like VS or something? Well if you do, I think that it should be ONLY arcade games this year!
Wickeycolumbus
I forgot all about the summer showdown! Yes, of course! I think console battles would be good, but maybe you should have another poll like last year.
littleman jack
I'd like another. The arcade only games sounds like a good one. Throw in games from different eras, including some odd or rare ones. Sounds fun.
BydoEmpire
Yes! I like the idea of doing arcade games-only, which would give some interesting cross-generational matchups. Crossbow vs. House of the Dead 2? Galaxian vs. Raiden Fighers? Ye Air Kung Fu vs. SF2? Sounds cool.
jboypacman
A Summer Shodown sounds great and i like the ideal of a Arcade Games only this time around.
Rhindle The Red
Okay, I'm liking the arcade only idea. My preference would be to limit the era. But when is the cutoff? Traditionally, it's been either the crash or the "Nintendo era". Where should I draw the line? Once that's decided, we'll start the nomination process, as usual. VectorGamer
For the uninitiated, what is the "Summer Showdown"?
Rhindle The Red
For the uninitiated, what is the "Summer Showdown"? It's a tournament of video games we've done the last few years. It's inspired by the one that GameFAQs does, but with a focus on vintage gaming. Here's the finals from the last three years: The 2008 Vintage Game Shodown 2007 Vintage Character Shodown Atari Shodown (2006) I spell it "Shodown" as a tribute to Samurai Shodown from SNK. jboypacman
Hmmm pre-Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat i would say i want to see true arcade classic stuff like Computer Space,Space Invaders ect.

segasaturn
I'm thinking the the cut-off should be around 1995, the end of the great fighters era!
Rhindle The Red
[but where's the tournament? It's here. At the Poll of the Week. Here's the bracket from the final round of the 2007 Shodown to give you some idea. Each of those matchups represents a poll that pitted the characters against one other. The winner moved on until a champion was declared. Got it?
