So, turn it off. Vista can act any way you want it to act really. If you don't want it doing things on it's own, then turn whatever it is you're referring to, off.

But then again, CPUWIZ answered your question on the 2nd post here and you didnt even recognize it. So maybe I shouldn't add to the confusion

It's called a hard drive partition; it’s when you divide hard drive storage in to sections (like in your case but it was done at the factory) and when this happens each partition is assigned a drive letter. Look it up. Really, Google is your friend! It won’t bite, I promise

I dunno why, but when i 1st looked at that desktop picture, i thought that gothclaws was still running win95/win98 (perhaps it's too early for me)

hey Gothclaws you can disable the irritating stuff in vista by going to the security center and open it up, from there look at the bottom of the window and click on the little grey arrow and it will drop down a menu and choose off for the UAC settings.

then it should stop asking you if want to install or remove anything a billion times, it works for me and I actually like Vista a lot it has some good stuff in it.

Just try it like that for a while and you will see it is not that bad.
