+Philsan
I had a SIO2SD device but without a case. Thanks to AtariAge user Lotharek now my device has found a home! You can send him your SIO2SD and he will make the work.

+orpheuswaking
Aww but the fun is in making your own case out of interest though how much did Lotharek charge you? Edited July 28, 2009 by orpheuswaking
+Philsan
I paid 40 euro for case + work. So in total for my SIO2SD (Pigula's board + Lotharek's case) I paid 75 euro. I have to say that Pigula and Lotharek have done a good and professional work. Edited July 28, 2009 by Philsan
+skr
I have to say that Pigula and Lotharek have done a good and professional work. And I have to add, that Lotharek´s support is great, too. I once had some little problems with my Stereoboard (the board was ok, but I was stupid) and he solved it via email. Good to have such people still acitve in the scene. :-)
sl0re
Aww but the fun is in making your own case out of interest though how much did Lotharek charge you? Normally, yeah, but the sio2sd is a special case / form of hell.
Foster
I've got one of Lotharek's cases too and it works like a charm.
mikmir
Hi all Atarians! I have recently bought the sio2sd package from Lotharek. I must say the build quality is exceptional. If you take into account that he really took the time to find a black/white led for me I must say: very nice guy. Received the package with a DVD and SD card ready to go! And having a lot of fun with my 800XE machine. Now just to buy another 800XL and I am really back into my teens (my production date was 1972....) Anyway, you cannot go wrong with Lotharek. He may need a bit of time but in the end delivers a very sturdy handcrafted SIO2SD box. Will post pictures later (digital camera on the Fritz.... ah well, just wish everything was built as sturdy as our XL/XE machines back in the day

And wired new buttons to the existing ones... that way if I want to swap it out to something else I just desolder the leg leads and I have a stock SIO2SD... was easy

flashjazzcat
I could do with one of those cases - having the EPROM die on me was a scare. I'd like to buy a case but fit it myself, if that's possible.
blackpanther
Recently got myself one of these and I now want to get a case for it or make my own. I did contact Lotharek to see if he would supply a case and he said I would have to send it to him. Would you have to send the adaptor to MegaHz for a case or would he send one out? I was thinking of using a tape case or maybe an old game cart if I decide to try it myself. Edited August 9, 2009 by blackpanther

I was thinking of using a tape case or maybe an old game cart if I decide to try it myself. the problem with sio2sd case is that lcd displays are not equal sized. I know at least 5 producers with 4-5 size variations. All work I do is hand-made and difference of 1mm causes lcd fall iside the case. The same is with board. Whilst building my devices I use smd version of sio2sd .....and it really takes long hours to assembly (anyway, its fun but not for everyone - beginings may be a liitle bit frustrating). ... flashjazzcat
I'm not having any luck finding a case for this: I was going for the XM-301 option but I can't find one on ebay that doesn't cost the earth in postage. I'd like to do the work myself, though. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I certainly don't want to to fit it inside the Atari case since it's shared between machines anyway (one of which has SIO2IDE). There's the nice transparent plastic of the cassette door for the LCD and I'm sure you could hook up the menu buttons to play, ff, rew etc. In fact now I think about it I'm sure I've seen something similar before ... Plus they should be cheaper than an XM-301.

Could have been fun. Here's what I did. That's more the size I want. No 1064s around at the mo, though. ...just thinking, maybe it would look good in a transparent/translucent case. Kind of like an iSIO2PC... Edited September 15, 2009 by flashjazzcat

flashjazzcat
Here's what I did. Very nice. How did you deal with the connector at the front? Did you manufacture some kind of blanking plate (like the one on the pass-thru at the back)? I have got a 1064, make me an offer if you want it PM'd. flashjazzcat
OK, thanks. Got one on the way so I'll see what I can do with it. Will be a long term project, since I have next to no suitable tools ATM.
flashjazzcat
Here's what I did. Any chance of a shopping list of parts or a quick guide to how you fitted out the 1064 case? Mine's just arrived.
urborg
Here are pictures of SIO2SD case which I have done few days ago.
