2 worthy video game podcasts

I'm on the fence about Watch out for Fireballs. I've never heard a podcast use fancy words like "vernacular". They do pepper obscure words here & there between the cussing. 2 hours to talk about a game is good. 4 hours is a bit much. But I don't have to listen to it.

Yes I was gonna mention their vocabulary- they sound educated & knowledgable on the subject w/out being snobbish. I enjoyed their "Hardware" ep- they admit the NES is +/- where it all began for them, though one of them had & was familiar with the 2600.

Sadly, they referred to the 5200 & 7800 systems as the "5400" & "7200". Whoops.

If anyone happened to miss the nearby topic, playermissile is starting up "Player/missile" podcast, focusing on classic Atari 8-bit games & gaming magazines. Ep. 0 is out on iTunes. Influences mentioned are Flack,, Ferg, & No Quarter, so if all goes well it's gonna be good.

Cool, downloading now. Perhaps they can team up with the Antic guys for some crossover.

Then you haven't been listening closely to the Intellivisionaries! The only time I've heard the word "concatenate" on a podcast. I like when people aren't afraid to use 3 dollar words.

I listened to the Zelda ep and I really enjoyed it. I don't mind the cussing, that's how I talk in real life anyway. I'll have to pick and choose because there are very few games they've done that I've actually played. and from what RJ said earlier, I doubt they will be doing any games before the NES era.

I found a non-video game related podcast that's a hoot. The Rialto Report. This guy interviews porn stars from the 1970s and 1980s, mostly New Yorkers. Real nostalgic. If it were not for the topic, it would be perfect for The Throwback Network. :) A

2 worthy video podcasts drinking game: Any time Classic Gaming Expo is mentioned, have a sip.

* Not limited to just Retrogaming Roundup.

I'll keep that in mind as we record episode 11 on Monday, S!

;-)

Have the aspirin and "not coming in to work" excuse ready after you listen...

So far enjoying The Rialto Report. You barely hear a peep from the interviewer. No talk of CGE. :)

Fun factoid: The classic theme to The People's Court was originally used in a porno called "Barbara Broadcast".

Back then, the golden age of porn had storylines, and video games didn't. Now it's the other way around.

13 years of working with Mennonites and Amish women is good training. Hearing an Amish woman say the F word has been one of the great joys of my life.

Also, editing.

Just sent in a request for a TI-99/4A podcast.

If you're asking for someone to do one, I nominate you, S!

I never had a TI, and didn't know anyone who did, but I always thought it looked like a cool computer. You've covered it a bit on your podcast already. Why not expand on that a little more?
