Was just wondering if there's any way in BASIC to read what's on the screen, i.e.
:If Output(P,Q,"+")
:R-1->R.
Yes, I know that isn't correct syntax, but it's just a way to show what I want to do here.
Also, I'd like to know if there are any forums related to programming this thing. I have found SITES (i.e. ticalc.org and calcgames.com) but they don't have forums.

I tried joining up, but I never got a confirmation e-mail. This was two days ago.

So, I recently got back interested in completing this program. Can anyone help? I've attached the program I have so far in a zip file. All I need is a way to detect if a + sign is on the screen or not.

Visit the TI-99/4a programming forum... Some brilliant TI BASIC and calc programmers on there.  They could certainly hook you up with what you need, I would think.
