Jesus... I'm francophone and I didn't even know what a "bagnard" is. Checked quickly in my dictionary app, says it's french for "convict". Aussi un synonyme pour forçat.

convict

noun |ˈkänˌvikt| |ˈkɑnˈvɪkt| |ˈkɒnvɪkt|

a person found guilty of a criminal offense and serving a sentence of imprisonment.ORIGIN Middle English : from Latin convict- ‘demonstrated, refuted, convicted,’ from the verbconvincere (see convince ). The noun is from obsolete convict [convicted.]

Can wait, this is one of my favorite arcade game.

The graphic look very good on the image posted by Retroillucid.

Speaking of French, the main character speaks French in the game.

Like when he put a moneybags in the wheelbarrow he says "a moi" (it's mine)

or when he goes into the minecart "Ho hip --- et hop la"

Well, it does look good, but it clearly doesn't work technically, especially the right-most portion with the slope that gets split over two screens in an arbitrary way. If I had time, I would do a proper mockup of BagMan on CV. But I have no time for this right now, so heh... :)

I see, at first I thought that it was full screen but obviously the resolution of the coleco is not sufficient enough.

I should have a look on how to program for the coleco. I being programming in C++ for 16 years, is that going to help me? or is it closer to machine language?

There are a couple of C compilers and some specialized libraries out there. The best way to find out more is to contact Daniel Bienvenu (newcoleco on AtariAge). He's been working on (and also with) these libraries for a long time. Best of all (for you), he's from Quebec City. :)

Alternatively, you could also code the software directly in Z80 assembly language, but I would assume a C++ guy like you would be more comfortable with C.

I don't see what you mean here. I don't what is not doable here.

Use the starter kit from Daniel Bienvenu , it is very good to start and you code in C . I used it for my Ghost'n Zombies on Colecovision.

C'est une idée que je me fais peut être, mais il semble qu'il y ait une majorité de Francophones qui codent sur Colecovision!

If I understand correctly, the slope is cut in two. So if you put a bag on the slope, it will travel or slide to the lower screen. Also, you wont see the guard arrived.

Other problems are that you wont see the guards when they are on the other (lower or higher) screen. This is a problem especialy if you want to drop a bag from the top of the ladder.

I think I will start from there. I've being watching Daniel's work for a couple of years and it's very impressive.

Effectivement!
