Are there any gameplay videos or review videos out for L.E.M? I'm stoked for release.. One/some videos of gameplay would help.

How are things going with L.E.M.? My Atari is raring at the bit for some lunar lander action.

Will the patch still have 2010 on it, or 2016?

2010.

Patches are getting old like Activision ones!  :D

A bit late but will take a CIB for sure if still available!!  Love the game and would dream of playing it on the VCS!!

Please put my name on the list for a boxed version with all the goodies if still available!

Again really nice game!!!  Good work!

One is the ROM, and the other is basic source code.

Some suggestions:

1- I think you should be able to see both directional and main-engine thrusters firing at the same time. Like left & down, or right & down. Not just down OR left/right.

2- The flashing pad indicator should be a different contrasting color.

3- I think there should be less tedium at the instant of landing. Something like how the original arcade Lunar Lander does with the zoom. If that's not possible, how about a changing of the main engine thrust curve. Where it is less bouncy and sensitive? Or even a way to fine control it.

Let's make a great game even better!

Thank you very much for your advices!

1. Standard kernel has two missiles, I don't remember why I didn't use both, perhaps because I had problems. In fact A8 version of the game has this feature.

2. I chose grey color because on the Moon there are no pads (but no red asteroids too...).

3. With DPC+ kernel (released one year after L.E.M.) I can enhance the game with high resolution lander, more asteroids, no blank lines etc. but I would need to return to work on this project and the beautiful game manual design would have to be changed.

Just rediscovered this. I played this several years back and didn't like it so much but I played it again today and I find it very enjoyable and cute! Love the patch and box art too. Shame it won't run on the Flashback Portable...

Hey Philsan, I'd suggest sending a message to Al and actually setting up a real contest for the label. Not only is it a great way to get potential labels, but it is also a great way to drum up interest in your game and increase possible sales. Contests seem to get a great response around here.

I've got a partial manual mock-up done which I'm including with this post. I have paused on finishing it as I wasn't sure what further changes you were going to make to the game. The manual will have to contain a minimum of 8 pages including the covers. If we wanted more graphics and such, we'd have to move to 12.

Also, in my research I find that NASA referred to the L.E.M. as the Lunar Lander. the L.E.M. designation was an earlier one that was later changed.

I really like the mockup too!

Reminds me of my personal mockup of my Atari Little Red Riding Hood fangame. I'd like to see more manuals modelled after the old style.
