Memory Manor

Recommended Posts

Found this title alongside squish em sam for 99 cents at the mall today. A few websites claim it's pretty rare. Certainly eye-catching. Anyone know anything about it?

Pretty rare Fisher Price title. Hows the condition? Nice score.

Loose, clean. Probably keep it, though. Happy to have it though since previously my rarest CV title was probably river raid or montezuma's... heh.. Love the commons though. I do have music maker or whatever too, but I guess that's not that incredibly hard to find. My friend has a better CV collection with antartic adv. which is so incredibly cute.

According to The Price Guide to Classic Video Games book, it has a rarity of 6/10, is worth about $10-15 loose and 15-25 CIB.

and... it's currently on ebay:

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 1105243240581?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=110524324058&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

Memory Manor CIB for 15-25 ???

Are you kidding me? :P

At this price I'll buy it right now! :D

Man, this game CIB is worth about a minimum of $200

Seriously, this is a very rare game to acquire CIB

loose, then its about $25-$30

I think prices guide for CIB Colecovision games are not very accuracy, according to market prices

Just my two cents :)

hah, maybe I can pick up another copy for 99 cents...

I haven't even tried it yet. Too busy with better titles

Retroillucid is right. CIBs are undervalued and distorted with Ebay and the economy. I would consider many 3rd party CIBS worth between $50 and $150

$20 for average rarity is not unreasonable at all.

Their just aren't many of those boxes around. The box adds a tremendous amount of value in my opinion.

Haha, I know that price guides are not always accurate, but they do give an idea of how much a game is worth compared to others.

It definitely does say that it is worth $15-25 boxed, but if your estimate is correct, then wow! That price guide is not accurate at all.

Well, another price guide (http://www.rarityguide.com/colecovision_view.php) says that it is worth about $52 CIB (and $30 loose).

I'll also include a more accurate one in the upcomming ColecoVision/Adam Book ;)

I never even thought about it, but I've never seen a single boxed CV game in the wild, collecting for about 15 years... tons of atari and nes boxes, more boxed INTV games than loose ones... no CV. I don't even know what the boxes look like.

Main kinds of boxes I came across :

Pretty nice. I think maybe I might have seen the parker brothers ones here and there, but they don't look much different from their 26 and INTV versions.

Why CV though? are the boxes crappier quality or something?

I get why the INTV ones are so common since they can hold the overlays and they "OPEN LIKE A BOOK"

The box quality for CV games is fine. I just think kids threw them away. Back when I had the ColecoVision in '82 I kept the manual and cartridge and threw out the box. My Mom probably told me it was clutter. The original stuff is long gone, but I am working on a complete collection. I am blessed, my girlfriend even enjoys the collection.

Unlike many classic game collectors, I only collect for the ColecoVision. Only other stuff I have are a few select Atari 2600 games that I loved as a kid and my Wii with games and accessories. It is wild how far video games have progressed.

Luckily my mom and dad were savers and I learned to save everything so all my colecovision games were saved box and all along with all the atari games I had bought for the atari adapter.

So luckily when I started collecting again at the beginning of this year I already had 50 colecovision CIB.

Thanks Mom and Dad :)

I have started to upload YouTubes of my collection, it will take several videos. Starting with loose, next will be boxed. I have approx 150+ unique boxes all CV, but this includes varieties, eg US vs Canadian bilingual vs CBS French, UK, Multilingual but still represents more than 100 unique titles.

My youtube handle is yyzonian.

Not to go off topic, but weren't the CBS variations not so much variations of same releases, and more different by region?

This is only my guess :

As far as I know, ‘CBS1’ was the first model for Europe. It came (box, manual and cart) in only one language: English, French, German, maybe more. So at least 3 models by a game.

Then ‘CBS2’ is multilingual, that is to say that texts on box, manual and cart are in several languages like English, French, German and Italian.

‘CBS3’ boxes are also multilingual (ex: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian).

For the same game, I never found ‘CBS2’ when ‘CBS1’ exists, but I often saw ‘CBS3’ when 1 or 2 exists.

So I think ‘CBS3’ came later than 1 and 2 or was for another region.

Plastic boxes seem more recent.

Texts on screen never change (except maybe for Smurf title screen whish is Schtroumpf in French) abd is always English.

If anybody has information about boxes, it would be cool to share.
