GrandviewCoin
So i just discovered a large assortment of original floppies and boxed floppy software for the C64. I know some titles may be worth some $$, like the complete Maniac Mansion, but what about bare bones floppy originals? Would a original Boulder Dash disk be valuable? ect ect.. +FujiSkunk
Yes, old originals and boxed games will sell, but, with very few exceptions (possibly games like M.U.L.E. that have sparked interest for reasons other than just game play), none will go for a mint. Tempest
Some games by the larger more well known companies that have cult followings may go for some money such as SSI, EA, Lucasfilm, Origin, etc. It's really hit and miss though. Mayhem
Very few loose original disks will sell for much... the value is generally in complete games with packaging.

Now whats with almost all the "buy it now" in the C64 software area? I can imagine with all the pirated copies out there, they would devalue the originals a bit. I have to say though, a full disk case of original disks is still rather neat to look through..
high voltage
You wouldn't have a Gee Bee Air Rally in your collection by any chance? Mine stopped working, I got the box/instr.
+Psionic
I can imagine with all the pirated copies out there, they would devalue the originals a bit. Or the fact that the everyday C64 gamer can buy a 1541 Ultimate device and not have to bother with diskettes at all. Very few people are interested in loose disks (or cartridges) these days since there are better options for casual gamers, and the serious collectors want complete, boxed software. The same thing has been happening with Atari 2600 stuff for quite a while due to the rise of emulation and the availability of the Cuttle/Kroc/Harmony cartridges. There is much less interest in loose Atari cartridges than there was several years ago, and I expect this trend will continue.

True, but the Ultimate runs around $180 which is a bit pricey. I also don't think you can actually order it right now, the website seems to indicate that they're readying a new version or something of that nature. Some people (myself included) like the own the original disks, but unlike carts disks lose a lot of value without the box and manual. To give you some idea of the value, there was a guy who sold 150 C-64 disks (130 of which were originals) for around $140. So I'd say that loose disks are worth about $1 each unless they're something particularly rare or desirable. Tempest
