jmetal88
Since I got asked for pics in my recent PCjr topic, I'll be posting some here. To start, here is a Megafile 30, which I have already sold, so it is no longer in my posession: I'll be following up with more images in later posts. It's going to take me a while to get pictures of everything, and some of it still needs pretty major clean-up.

jmetal88
A working Commodore 64 in an awful-looking box:
nathanallan
So far so good, looking forward to as many pics as you take My TI and a Vic 20 are in awful looking boxes, but the insides are still good stuff. jmetal88
My favorite so far: EDIT: And might I add, I had no idea I was getting most of this stuff. I answered an ad for a "Commodore 64 and box of wires including a Tandy unit that folds out to have a screen and keyboard." BydoEmpire
That's awesome, I love the SX-64s. Congrats on the haul!
jmetal88
Not terribly exciting, but I've just managed to identify this as an Atari joystick adapter for the TI-99/4a: I guess that means once I get some games (if the new VDP fixes the computer), I won't have to go hunting down joysticks now. nathanallan
Sweet Portable!! I would love to get one of those from a Craigslist haul. One of my teachers actually got her Master's Degree using one (she is still looking for one, too). Does it look to have a drive pulled, or just the cover missing? The SX-64 only ever came with one drive. That's a storage compartment up above it.
BDW
Nice finds, jmetal! I hope you get the TI working! It's always good to have someone on the TI side.
nathanallan
Did the TI come with any game carts? I have several and they are all 8-bit fun stuff, even the educational ones. I trip out over things like Home Financial Planner. Give me TI Invaders any day! I also have the 2600 joystick adapter, simply priceless for TI owners. I wasn't complaining about what I got or didn't get though, before I picked up the stuff the guy actually managed to talk himself down from $10 to free. yuppicide
I like the look of the SX-64, but it really hurt my eyes. It wouldn't run most of the software I tried, so I've never wanted to own one.
cdoty
Wow, what haul. The SX-64 is worth it, by itself.

I bet he was happy that it was going to a good home and not a trash compactor. Definitely a great haul. Now, games!
desiv
I like the look of the SX-64, but it really hurt my eyes. It wouldn't run most of the software I tried, so I've never wanted to own one. Weird, I owned an SX-64 for years (sold it tho, which I never should have), and I never had any compatibility problems. And I doubt there was a program I didn't run. :-) OK, that's an exaggeration, but that SX-64 got a lot of use in college.. Perhaps your drive was out of alignment??? desiv p.s. And to the OP who got the SX on craigslist.. I hate you.. Kidding.. Great haul!! I actually just missed an SX down here. I was searching craigslist for Commodore, 64, etc... One day, I did a search for something different (can't remember what now), and saw a several day old listing for a "Midi musical computer".. and.. It was an SX-64 with a MIDI interface and MIDI software.. The guy had no idea it could do anything else.. Of course, it was gone by the time I replied.. :-( Oh, the pain!!! NightSprinter
Sweet find, man. Depending on what was paid, you made off like a bandit on the SX-64.
jmetal88
Sweet find, man. Depending on what was paid, you made off like a bandit on the SX-64. The only cost to me was the $8 in gas it cost to drive to Tulsa and back.
jmetal88
By the way, this isn't the entire haul yet - I still have some joysticks, cables, and non-working items to photograph, but I'm taking a break for a little while.
jmetal88
Finally got the PCjr cleaned up. Still have no idea if it's working. Edited July 23, 2010 by jmetal88
nathanallan
A PC Jr. is on my wanted list forever since it's so dang unique. Still a great haul.
jmetal88
Holy crap, the PCjr works! I have no idea what the green goo was that I cleaned off the power board and motherboard, but apparently it didn't come from inside any of the components on either board. I just wired up an 18v transformer I found in the garage to the power card, and the machine turns on, passes the 128k RAM test, and boots to BASIC! It's a pity I can't use it yet due to the fact that it requires a special keyboard that I do not have.
nathanallan
If I run across a keyboard for you I will snag it and hold onto it for you. Isn't it a bummer to know it works and all only to have a small-ish component missing and that be the only thing stopping it? I know that kind of thing frustrates me. I have a V.Flash with no controllers, so I can't even test the thing past power on. Keeping my eyes open for you. Nathan
Hydian
What's the sidecar? I had one while in high school and we had several sidecars on ours. I still kick myself for letting my dad get rid of that and our heavily modded CoCo1.

I found a guy in Canada who supposedly has several PCjr keyboards he's giving away for shipping cost, so I sent him an e-mail. I'm hoping I hear back from him.
