Atari 5200 lot from Craigslist

Well hello everyone! I am new here but have been collecting video games for about 5 years. Starting to pick up a few more Atari games, and snagged this lot on Craigslist. Now can anyone fill me in on the story about Meteorites? I did some research before I bought the lot (for $20) and saw that Meteorites seemed pretty hard to find. Was it a mail order game kinda like the Panesian titles on the NES? Any info would be appreciated, also are any of these other games of value? Thanks!

Yeah, you got one hell of a deal. Meteorites is an R8 and worth around $80. I actually picked up a lot last week (77 games, system, controllers) and Meteorites was in mine too ;) It was initially called "Disasteroids" before Atari had a shit fit on Electra Concepts. If you play the game, you will see it is a blatant ripoff of Asteroids. Good score! Actually kind of worried about its value nowadays, because I can find two of these online for sale at any given time, and I found one...and you did. Hmmm.. Gremlins may be more valuable ;)

The rest are common/semi common (at least to me). I could use Star Wars as my cart was dead..that usually commands $10 as far as I have seen. If you are looking to sell it, let me know.

Nice score! Meteorites is the only game for the 5200 that I don't have.

I had the opporunity to pick one up once at the CGE 2000 (or 2001 don't recall for sure). The vendor had 3 of them for $100 or less complete (new) in box. The person in front of me bought all 3. :x Still bitter about that after 9 years. I was at least able to purchase a boxed MasterPlay interface before he bought the rest of those as well.

I hate when people "glom" up stuff like that. There's no reason for it other than to re-sell/prey on collectors. I saw people doing that many times before. I call them "glommers" ;) You'll find it one day man....just like I hopefully will find my last game needed: BBSB

That stinks, that happened to me once at a flea market. Guy bought a bunch of Coleco games in the box right in front of me. :(

I bought my copy of Meteorites back in the day through mail order. I believe the ad was in an Electronic Games. The same issue I also bought the Vectrex goggles and all three 3d games mail order. I never saw Meteorites sold in stores.
