lucifershalo
It is probably a really newbie topic but as I dont know anything....let's ask can the Adam dsk games be converted to roms playable on the Colecovision? that means 1.can we convert the files to another format? 2.the CV carts can be played on the ADAM, but can the ADAM games be played on the CV?? 3.if so, can the ADAM Super series games be played on the CV? it is probably all fantasy but as I am busy building my SD cart to use with the CV SD multicart.... ADAM games can only be played on the ADAM, mostly because of memory requirements. The CV only has 1K of RAM, and can generally only accomodate 32K cartridges. ADAM games are much larger than that, in both RAM and ROM space usage. That's not to say that it's impossible to do today, though. If you use something like a 256K MegaCart to store the game software, and some kind of RAM expansion (if truly needed) then it's possible to put a Super Game (like Dragon's Lair or Zaxxon Super Game) on a regular CV cartridge. But the games would have to be disassembled, analyzed and recoded to run from the cartridge, which would be quite a chore for such large games. newcoleco
Well, there are games that was meant to run on ColecoVision but was then developed for the Coleco ADAM computer instead, like A.E. in the 2 games compilation disk Best of Broderbund. A.E. is listed in the FAQ as an unreleased ColecoVision game, but it's released for the Coleco ADAM computer. With enough knowledge about Coleco Adam and ColecoVision, a skilled programmer can expect to port A.E. for the ColecoVision, by cutting some parts like highscore board and return to main menu. I personnaly don't like A.E. so I'm not gonna take time porting it.

There is not a Hall of Fame Board in "The Best of Broderbund" so the only change that would need to be made would be the menu selection and the game as a whole should not be larger than 32K... might be interesting to look at even though the game isn't one of my favorites, like you mentioned. The backgrounds are probably the best part of the game. The second game in the pack is Choplifter and I think that version is identical to the ColecoVision cart, but would have to play it again to make sure. mäsäxi
Hello, just wanted to say, that A.E. actually has nice little twist in it, as you have to aim your shot, by pressing fire button. Longer you press, longer your shot will fly. That separates A.E. from most shooters. At least on MSX version the graphics were bit simplistics but I enjoyed the game years ago. Enemies had different path in every new screen. And they used background as a hiding places, like flying into caves to disappear, and then appear from another cave little later.
