Thanks to a post from fandal, I have been reading up on a new high level programming language for the Atari called Atalan. The page is here. It looks quite promising.

 

Yes, it is very interesting project praised on easy-to-read code and fast execution. Thanks to Rudolf, author of the project.

 

BTW: it could be smart to subscribe RSS news from atarionline.pl too :D, because this Atalan fever started from JKR's game "Atalan The Snake":

Nosty prepared the next game in Atalan called "Atalan Sokoban" (new levels, different than in another Atari 8-bit productions):

The best game so far was prepared by Jakub Husak (yep, this guy known from Mirage games in 90's) who is engaged in compiler development:
