The Usotsuki
The problem is people like you and me, with the C64 mindset, are the exception in the Apple ][ world.
Bill Loguidice
Taken as a whole and in comparison to contemporary platforms like the C-64 and Atari 8-bit, the Apple II is a mediocre game system. When you start to look a bit more closely though, it has some interesting quirks that make it quite intriguing. And whatever one thinks of its capabilities, it's undeniably one of the most influential game systems of all time, and of course has a sizable amount of game content not available elsewhere or in quite the same way. In terms of Apple II gaming, it will never have the modern day homebrew scene that a platform like the C-64 has, which receives amazing new content all the time, but I will say that if you've been following along the past several years, you can't help but note a general uptick in both quality creations and overall interest. As such, I have no doubt that all the other stuff that that entails will also eventually fall into line.
