Parrothead
I came across a new, in box Bally Arcade System (Montgomery Wards version). I don't think I can bring myself to open it up and play it though. So not sure if I will keep it or throw it on GameGavel. I normally only collect stuff I can play. I have found these quite a few times over the years, but finding one that is completely working is tough. So tempting. Recycled
I'd be getting the Incredible Wizard and getting down with it.
mbd30
Can you resist playing "The Incredible Wizard" after reading this review? http://www.videogamecritic.net/astroaz.htm#Incredible_Wizard,_The
fiddlepaddle
If it's never been opened, it may just work fine, for a while. If you do decide to open it up and play it, place it on top of a laptop cooler to suck the heat away. I'd think they would be pretty rare and worth selling if it's still sealed, though I have no idea what you might get for it.

I haven't opened it yet and it is taunting me I may just get a cheap opened one and play it. I've found them before at the swaps, but never one that worked all that well. AGGGGGG! What to do? the.golden.ax
Sell it and buy a used one, pocket the proceeds. AX
tep392
Don't let that system spend it's days sitting on a shelf. Didn't you see toy story? Open it up and video it for the rest of us.
rxd
I'd play it myself. I've always wanted one of these systems but never got it. Hopfully some day I'll get one myself. Edited September 17, 2010 by rxd
horseboy
There are a ton of these out there. They aren't particularly rare. Why open it and kill a sealed one when there is plenty of interest for something like that. Trust me guys, there are tons of opened Astrocades that aren't being played either. He can make one of those "happy" for you guys without ruining a rarity. Do what Ax said.
GameGirl420
Ooooh, how much you selling it for??? Bally Astrocade is a must for my collection. I'd totally love to open that and test it out. Edited September 22, 2010 by lushgirl_80
Lord Helmet
I sure wish there was a decent emulator for the Astrocade out there. Is there anything other than MESS?
+Gemintronic
Not rare enough to rip open the boxed version. A local flea market near me had plenty of boxed and loose Astrocades. One for play and one for posterity I say.
SRGilbert
I don't know, these seem to be pretty rare. The local comic/collectable shop has a loose used one with no games for $450! Seriously. Although, I will admit that in 4 years of collecting, I've never come across another one.........
Parrothead
Ok. So I got the Bally off of Craigslist and FINALLY got it. The good news is, this thing is in pristine condition and best of all, I think it was at least removed and played at least once as there was a loose Incredible Wizard cartridge and the wrapping around the Bally was not sealed in any way so the unit could be removed from the wrapping with no undoing of anything. There are four controllers, one pair is wrapped and the other two are opened but still look like they have never been touched. So good news is I feel no issue taking this out and playing with it It is gorgeous though and whether it was played or not I am real happy with it. Holding these controllers which look perfect is truly a great feeling as all the ones I've found in the past are always busted and dirty. JamesD
I've always wanted an Astrocade but every time I bid on one the price goes through the roof. If I don't bid that's the only time they go cheap.
