4ever2600
Well this title was delayed once again, Gameslut now says 10/27/2010... PLEASE let this not be some cruel vaporware joke.
ubersaurus
Well, Gamestop initially was not going to carry the game, so maybe it has something to do with that.
4ever2600
Well, I waited 5 years, I suppose another month won't kill me... NOW NOW NOW!
mechanicoid
WTF? Doesn't ship according to Gamestop until 10/15/2010? That sucks! Anyone know the scoop? Amazon doesn't even list the game, which really bugs me. I mean really, how difficult is it to release this game? I guess the suits think if it can't match the sales of all those 'dress up' and 'baby simulators' for the DS, it won't move units?
+atari2600land
IGN lists it as coming out 10/19/2010.
4ever2600
Has anyone heard of another vendor besides Gamestop carrying this title? Let's hope it's really 10/27/2010 this time.
Rev
i bet it gets delayed again after oct 27th too.

Akito01
It is finally here, and in my hands as of today. It's very cool to have it after so many years, but I'm curious to touch base with other users. I was very excited to play the two AD&D games in the collection, and those are among the first I booted up to try. Unless I'm missing something, there doesn't seem to be any way to count arrows in Crown of Kings, which adds an extra wrinkle to gameplay for sure. With Minotaur, the issue is similar, in that the indicated controls to count food and arrows don't appear to work either. But, more troubling with that game is that there are no graphics for what is in your left and right hands -to see what you're carrying, you have to either drop it or move it into the pack. Unfortunately, there is also no weapon information data displayed either, only your hit points and defense values. I'm actually just curious if I've missed something or not, since the last thing I want to do on day one is complain about errors and so forth. I know a lot of work was put into this, and we've waited a long time for it. The touch screen integration seems to work really well and looks really sharp. jaybird3rd
might it be these games are prototypes? have you tried using headphones? They're the final versions of the AD&D games, just with different names. Intellivision Productions owns the games themselves, but not the AD&D name, so when they added those games to their collections, they simply changed the names back to the ones that were used during development to avoid licensing issues. ClassicGMR
I have to say I am VERY disappointed: Minotaur(AD&D Tarmin) - you cannot see what is in your hands, the power of the item, or the bottom 2 items of the pack. The counts don't seem to work. Crown of Kings(AD&D Cloudy Mountain) - Can't find a way to count arrows? Space Spartans - the computer won't give you an alien count and the controls sometimes don't respond. Night Stalker - seems very slow and unresponsive firing controls. Football - worked fine as far as I could tell. Never played the Super Pro series. B-17 Bomber - played fine except when you drop multiple bombs on the target it says "That was on target" for each bomb. I dropped 3 and it repeated "Bomb's away! That was on target!" three times. Thunder Castle - seemed ok but I never played it until now. Las Vegas Poker&Blackjack - worked as expected. Just different sounds. Bomb Squad - Seems to be ok but whenever the voice tried to tell me how long before blast it repeated four times without actually giving me a time. Question: Do the old 2 player games require a 2nd player or did they just not put them in? Gamestop lists Sea Battle and I thought there was going to be an AI for those type games but I don't see it anywhere... I'm going to try the other games but the main game I wanted this for - AD&D Tarmin(Minotaur) - is unplayable as far as I can tell. Akito01
I was really hyped about Minotaur as well, because this should be the perfect format to play it on. It looks to me, and I know others have pointed this out as well, that the screen is vertically offset so that the bottom portion is cut off and there is a blank bar at the top. It looks like, and perhaps this is something that is wrong with the emulation engine in general rather than the specific games, that sounds that are tied to certain variables do not work; thus, no arrow counts and no alien count, ect. You'll also notice that there is no sound when spiders steal your arrows in Crown of Kings, for example. I'm not sure if Night Stalker really is slow, because that was never a very fast game to begin with. I don't think I've played enough titles to be certain if there are any issues with control or speed. I did put in a marathon session of Astrosmash were I cleared 915,000, breaking my GameRoom score by nearly a hundred thousand. The titles that are tied to multiplayer are literally locked behind a wall that can only be accessed when linked to another DS. Very bad news for those of us who liked to play Utopia or Race Driving as single player experiences. I know what went into making this title, and it is great that it is finally here, but in the process of landing a publisher, it really could have used a second pass (note that the credits only list a single tester). Given that the game cannot be patched and unlikely to be republished again, it's a bummer to think of all that could have been. My hope is that since the 3DS will have a virtual console service, Nintendo will permit emulated titles on that download service where they didn't on the DSi. Atariboy
The multiplayer games like Triple Action, Sea Battle, and Utopia are included. They require connecting with a second DS for multiplayer to access them.
sinistermoon
Well, at least some of you are playing the collection! I ordered my signed copy from the Intellivision store and STILL haven't got it yet! My credit card was charged so I know the problem isn't on my end. I've been waiting for a month and 5 days now. That picture made totally go not that i'm ungrateful (ie still haven't received mine yet), but I wish the full method of how these orders were going to be fulfilled (ie not signed n shipped when release day came but afterwards) was explained when they first opened up the pre-orders. I would have gone ahead and ordered from GS. I would have also done the IP preorder and had an extra one to 'give away and spread the word' with, but still had one already in hand :/ gavv
