doctorclu
8,700 Getting used to the button to fire and another button to jump, but otherwise, kewl.

Divya16
29,250 You must have played this game before a lot. I played maybe a couple of times on Atari 800 but this one requires two buttons so needs some getting used to.
zylon
I think I have just about every version of this except the 5200 one. I've bought one of these but not looking forward to 2 button controls.

I've bought one of these but not looking forward to 2 button controls. It gets confusing once you have to keep alternating between buttons when the action is frantic. Divya16
Atari 800 uses Up to jump over craters which is more intuitive.

roadrunner
Any bonuses in this game like at 10k and/or 20K and so forth... haven't read the manual. You get a bonus patrol car at 10k, 30k, and 50k.
Divya16
I can't get used to toggling between two buttons fast enough.
doctorclu
I can't get used to toggling between two buttons fast enough. Once you DO get used to it, you'll find your reflexes from the 8 bit Moon Patrol kick in.
atariksi
Okay, score update. Looks like I will rewire my joystick so up is fire button for the next game.

atariksi
A little better 14,050 I'll see how far I can get with new joystick adaptation. Even on A8, I didn't play this game that much.
zylon
That 2 button bit makes this the hardest version I've yet played 4400 The Apple II/E was the first version I'd ever played.
doctorclu
That 2 button bit makes this the hardest version I've yet played 4400 The Apple II/E was the first version I'd ever played. You know, I have been wondering what it would take to port the 8 bit version to the 5200 just so I don't have to use the two buttons. Think of it... decompile the two versions, transfer the 5200 control codes to the 8 bit version.... ... if I could make a port of the game, could we use that for the competition this time around? Hey I'm winning.. I'd be the only one so far with something to loose by doing that.
doctorclu
Just realized... decompile the 5200 rom code, change the code so that pushing up on the stick is jump, and then that will be taken care of.
roadrunner
The next time we play this game in the 5200 HSC maybe we could play a modified 5200 ROM version or a A8 conversion. Atari 800 conversions have been played before in the 5200 HSC. Edited September 25, 2010 by roadrunner

Easier to modify the joystick wiring especially if you have digital joystick interface. Make a gender bender with the modified wiring or make a software version of the gender bender. zylon
Slight improvement: 5400 I've played the Apple II, Vic-20, C64, TI99, and 2600 versions. I'll try out the A8 one tomorrow morning since I've never really played it. Only got it a few months ago.
