Madaracs
What is the best process for dumping ROMs from cartridge? Is there an easy way to do this? I have a couple of games that I would like to include on my AtariMax cart and I would like backup copies for personal use only.
NIAD
What is the best process for dumping ROMs from cartridge? Is there an easy way to do this? I have a couple of games that I would like to include on my AtariMax cart and I would like backup copies for personal use only. If you have an ADAM oomputer and ADAM FDD, you can use CopyCart+ D2.0 to copy all carts up to 32K in size. Then you have to transfer the cart rom file to the PC or Mac to place on the SD Cart. If you don't have an ADAM, then you would need to purchase a Rom Dumper and I have no clue which one is the best to go with. Sure someone on here has some experience with these and the best one to purchase.

ColecoDan
Actually I have seen them come up non stop on ebay for the last month or so. It is like there is a run of people selling their Adam Computers. There might still be some available but I don't really follow Adam computer so don't know if they were bid or buy now. Well if you see one let me know. I don't want the full Adam. I want the one that plugs into the ColecoVision. (Which I know is really not much different but I still want it.) ColecoDan
Ah I guess that could be the difference. Like I said don't follow it so don't know much about it. If one of them in the future describe it as not standalone and plug into colecovision then I will let you know.

There's is an Exp. Mod. #3 on eBay right now that's been up for bid for a couple days with no takers. The seller has split everything up into different auctions (think 7 in all), but together they make a complete ADAM if you have the ColecoVision. If you really want an ADAM, I would go after one of the Stan-Alone ADAMs (that have the ColecoVision built-in as well as Composite Video output) as the footprint is a lot smaller. There are a couple of these on eBay right now listed at $125, $50.00 with 2 bids on it and I forget the last one's price.

Yeah, I saw the $125 one and it looks nice except that it's missing the cord for the keyboard. Thanks for the help though! I'll keep looking on the eBay. I can't remember which one I bought. I had them both bookmarked. Edited October 2, 2010 by jblenkle

Mod. #3 and he said he has two printers, the one that he is selling does not cycle when the system is powered on. He also didn't plug the Memory Console into a ColecoVision, so this could be the problem. Currently, all 7 of his auctions which would make a complete system are at 1 PENNY, so you might be able to grab this one for basically the cost of shipping! I'm considering it as well, just to have in my re-growing collection. PM me if you want this so we don't butt heads... I'll wait for another one. jblenkle
OK, I'm answering myself now...the correct cable for the ADAM is an RJ12. It is the six connector one. The RJ11 is only four. I bought mine from Show Me Cables at: http://www.showmecables.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=2912&utm_source=google&utm_medium=merchant&utm_campaign=15-302-003R What is the best process for dumping ROMs from cartridge? NIAD
By all means please go for it. I've spent too much money this week! No, you take it... I've spent too much money this week! - Pooyan by CollectorVision $60 - Smurf Controller by Yurkie $79 - Coleco Perman Power Battery Pack $15.50 and on, and on. Thankfully I have a storage cabinet with a lock on it so I can hide all this stuff from the old lady.

I like the Famicom version but the CV one is totally awesome. And a Harmony Cart. $65 Two huge lots of ColecoVision carts totalling more than $100... Argh. One of us should do it. *off to eBay again to look*
