In the example I posted, the seller took 4 games that were never on cartridge and made a cart with label, etc. There's no mention that this is a homebrew/hack anywhere on the cart or in the auction. John What identifies them as pirate carts ? I know little to nothing about these carts but I sure would like to know in case I start collecting them. ndary Posted December 2, 2002 Share Posted December 2, 2002 Greetings to everyone.. there was a simlar topic posted here.. six months ago.. when i offered last time cartridge on ebay.. you may want to search atariage history and read my responce.. to make things short.. i am not trying to hassle anyone.. in the auction i did post "Special Made" cartridge.. and did not write original cartirge.. etc.. i could have written "home made cartridge.." or something else. Ebay is the easiest way for me to sell cartridges.. and to raise some cash to buy more pcbs/roms for future experiments... funny that i was not aware of www.atariage.com until it was brought to my attantion that pepole have posted messages about my cartrdiges here.. so good thing happened.. now i regulary reads this forum. i think the topic of "what released cartridiges for 800/xl/xe" had been quite covered here.. and you can also do a seach and find links for list of known offical releases of atari carts.. anyone who send me an email asking for info about the cart, go an answer... other carts i have done: Mule, Spy Vs Spy Triology (all 3 spy games in one cart), Synapse Games (Shamus 2, Shadow World, etc..), DataSoft Games, Tapper, Bruce Lee, Koronis Rift, Eidolon, Vanguard, Rampage.... Just be a little more clearer in your title or content that they are hombrew or custom carts or reproductions by you so that people don't try to call them pirate carts, especially people who themself are selling pirate carts. Instead you choose to label him a pirate when you yourself are a pirate in selling unauthorized copies of games and attempt to discredit the guy... Your days of doing this are over John, you got away with this crap years ago when not as many people knew one another and were talking to one another, but people, especially here on this site are a tight knit community and your old and dusty tactics aren't going to work, either work "WITH" the community or go off and grumble elsewhere with your flaming and discrediting of others where doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. It's funny that everyone who posted agreed that the carts should be labeled more clearly, yet you directed your comments specifically to me. If you've learned to read by now, you'll be able to go back in this thread and see that I never called Nir a pirate. I called the cart that he made a pirate cart. What would you call it? Homebrew? I stated that it should be labeled as such and everyone agreed. And using the words "special made" in the auction does not do the job. The cart needs to be labeled as a home-made/reproduction/etc. on the label, otherwise the first time it's re-sold/traded you've lost that disclaimer. As far as I know, the Atari Age carts are labeled as repros and even your high-score cart was marked appropriately. And for the record, with any cart I have been involved in releasing, the programmer was paid for the rights much as I believe you did with Gary Rubio. Finally, there was really no need to email Nir as there was a whole thread about this subject on this very forum a few months ago. Maybe if you were more active in the community you would've seen it. But enough with this on-topic nonsense... Your idle threats of exposing me for god knows what don't scare me. I've dealt with your bullshit before and probably will till the day I die. This whole "can of worms" and the hordes of people I've belittled is a bunch of crap. The only people I've belittled is you and maybe a couple of your henchmen. Honestly, you should be the last person to want our war to go public. But since you persist and want to air your gripes in this thread, go ahead and bring it on!
