I been a fan since Christmas of 83 when i got my model 2 for Christmas. Unfortunatley for me, i don't know anybody who would play with me. Everybody complains about the controllers. Here is my story. http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/156479-intellivision-guy/page__p__1919930 + this awesome thread here. http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/172583-vintage-gaming-store-displays/page__view__findpost__p__2139280

IntellivisionDude
That would be cool. Commando is high on my wish list. And Thanks. This is a little off topic, but you mentioning Commando got me thinking. Even though i only need 33 more games to have a complete loose collection, a few of those are not high on my wish list. Here are the ones i really want. Beamrider Commando DK jr. Mountain Madness Super Pro Skiing (i can actually play this one of my PS2 or DS) Popeye Super Pro Decathlon (same as above) Thin Ice (same as above) Tower of Doom (same as above) Worm Whomper These ones i don't know much about but sound cool. Fathom Ice Trek Sewer Sam Super Cobra Truckin' Tutankham White Water! I didn't add Spiker or Mud Buggies since they are almost impossible to get. And a few of the rare ones may be more rare than fun. The switch off may not be worth it. And here is my box wish list. I always said the cart comes first and i wouldn't worry about if it had the box. But there is a few i would love to have. Diner Dracula Master of the Universe Jetsons Ways with Words Slam Dunk Slap Shot Super Pro Football Shark Shark Maybe Centipede Maybe Pac-Man The rest are not high on my list and i know i'll get them eventually. I can't play the boxes anyway. They just look nice on the shelf. And for games i don't own. The boxes for Dig Dug and Commando are killer looking. Chuck D. Head
Hi Mark! Welcome to AtariAge, the best place to talk about Intellivision, oddly enough. Lots of cool stuff here, folks working on new homebrews, buying / selling / trading, and a lot of talk now about the Mattel Aquarius computer, with a new multi-cart on the way. You will want to get in on the competition at the Intellivision High Score Club, I bet............

I still have to track down exactly where... who knows, maybe there's still some old warehouse with some forgotten boxes!? IntellivisionDude
I would also like to mention that lately i have doing Intellivision high score challenges on my Youtube channel. They are not as serious and competitive as the ones here. It's just a friendly challenge mainly just trying to get people to participate and get people involved in the Youtube community. The last few i did, i think only 4 or 5 people participated.
Rev
yeah, welcome. like others have said, this is about the only place besides the intellivision facebook page that isnt dead. this place wouldnt be as lively if it wasnt part of AA though. but i think most of us collect and play more than just intellivision. i also have colecovision, 2600,5200,nes,SMS,and still play the new stuff on ps3 and wii. Stick around, and enjoy. P.S. hopefully there will be some new intellivision games released this year onto cart! dont miss the preorders. I would love to play in your tournaments if you have more hope to get to know all of you better hope you have a great day, Mark Hey Mark, nice to see a new face at the Intellivision forum. I am new to Intellivision since Feb 2010, but I caught on quickly. Already racking up high scores, on my own Intellivision, nowadays. Also got the Intellivoice and about 50 games for it. I didn't know this console existed in the punk gaming era '77-83! I only knew Atari, Odyssey and Colecovision, plus the home computers like Commodore 64 and Apple 2C. LOL... probably because I was 5 in 1985. I'm 30 now, but I have two brothers around 5 n 8 years older then me, so they know all about the 80's and I learned a lot from both my older bros (and some from living in the 80's), so I know all 80's songs, movies, culture... etc. The best time for everything pretty much was the 1980's. Creativity was limitless then. Would be cool to see you in the Intellivision tournaments for high scores! The next season of games starts next SPRING around "March or April of 2011 I presume. About 4 months from now. I finished "5th" place overall this past year at the HSC of Intell. You could still post some high scores of yours in a message here, if you want to discuss the games you are playing. You can make a post about everything Intellivision here. I'm the best at Vectron and Tron Deadly Discs, two awesome games, those two are probably my favorites. Vectron I scored over 400ks. Tron D.D, over 2 million! IntellivisionDude
The next season of games starts next SPRING around "March or April of 2011 I presume I would prefer if they started in January since every year i'm laid off from January to March and have nothing but time on my hands. Even though i still seem to find time when i'm not laid off.

Sometimes trying to figure out a games mechanics, and playing it often, suddenly you find out better or different ways to play and succeed. Basically the easiest way to get how to play VECTRON is... You have to build or fill in, "energy blocks" with using the top buttons and disc while shooting away the eniemes flying around them block and breaking them apart. (cannot complete the level if any damage is done to EVEN the corner of one block) Sorta space-tetris in a way. One tip, is hold your thumb down on the STANDARD mode and shoot the bad stuff with the directional pad, and not bother with the FREESTYLE setting it sends you all over the place. It's better to build each block 1 by one and then when your done, you solve the level. I made an extra effort to read most of my instruction manuals, like with Tron Maze-A-Tron, also Sub Hunt, Space Spartians, Mission X, Microsurgeon, Horse Racing, Vectron and that... it gets me better scores, and let's me understand all gameplay aspects. Lowers my frustration and I realize the games are EASIER then I thought. (Helps to buy the games in lots on ebay, with their box, manual and overlays) Some games it's a must! You need all the gear to play. Like you, I am into playing and not just collecting. For example; with a game like Donkey Kong I worked at it, figured out that jumping the barrels is best "before" the barrel gets near your feet. Also the bonus hammer... if you aren't walking into the barrel or ducks, they wont go THROUGH your hammer and you can hit them everytime. I got a score of 138,000! There's only a few games left in my humble collection that I haven't played much, B-17 Bomber (need to read how to play) and Bomb Squad (the code I'm confused about). That's about it, and I could spend more time on the Dungeons and Dragons games, I haven't gotten very far on either one.
