Here is my forum posting for the archive of the Action Annex BBS 206-892-8969, 1982-1996, now disconnected.

I just finished the archives and the following message has the files.
17mb zipped, about 3000 ST, 4500 ATari 8bit files
It includes 8-bit files, mostly music, Atari ST MIDI files, and a collection of clip art.

http://atariage.com/forums/topic/272773-recovered-clip-art-for-the-st-from-the-action-annex-bbs/?p=3909830

The remaining hardware was sold off and two Amazon tablets were donated to the Sharehouse homeless shelter. A bunch of yarn scarfs and hats made from my ex-wife were made from Donna's leftover yarn and donated also.

I still have the BBS 800 and the 130XE. not sure if I have the time to get it back online through the net.

Cheers.

Just a quick note... Looks like the MSS-100 gave up the ghost entirely (to the point that when it's connected, it actually brings my router down with it).

I need to dig through my stuff to get my spare, but it's way too late (I'm well past my normal bed time on a work night) so it will likely happen tomorrow.

Sorry to anyone who tried calling... (Insert BCLJ Laugh Track here)... (Cleveland area people will get that.....)

Things are getting really heating up in the Political world. MAJOR Swamp draining SOON.

Comment on this on my BBS. That's what it's for.

Unlike most BBS's, I encourage open discussion on all subjects.

Call my BBS, Port 23 on Static IP: 23.25.83.98

Part-Time was the longest running Atari 8 bit BBS in the Cleveland Ohio 216 Area Code. My step-dad ran this BBS from 1985 to early 2000. After a nearly 18 year hiatus, it's back!

This version of the BBS was restored with backup disks from 1990. It's running one of the first BBS Express Pro! nodes, node x7!

The restored BBS includes messages from 1988-1990, some restored file sections, and many original online games.

To connect, telnet to ptbbs.ddns.net port: 8000.

Have a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you on Part-Time soon!

Hey John, tried the BBS this morning but couldn't connect. Can you check the BBS? Thanks!

It worked for me just now....maybe someone else was on or it was running some maintenance when you tried connecting. At any rate, try again.

So I'm still having issues with the MSS-100 for SFHQ..... and I finally found the 2nd one, only to find that it was DOA apparently.

I have it running now, but I'll be switching to the UDS 1100 (which will require some tweaking to the Fido config, but that's neither here nor there...) so hopefully we'll be back to being stable.

I also got the BBS list updated ( http://www.sfhqbbs.org/ataribbslist.php ) with the addition of Part Time BBS and the return of The Grove.

I'm really sorry I got behind in BBS related things lately. I couldn't believe it's been weeks (or in some cases a month) since I've called around.

Just couldn't get motivated to do anything during this last vacation week. Spent most of it not feeling well... so again, I apologize.

I will make sure I get all the systems verified soon (though I think everyone is up at the moment except for my flip flopping which I hope to fix tomorrow).

I recently wrote a module for my BBS (basementbbs.ddns.net:9000) that downloads the weather for my city from rainmaker.wunderground.com. The rainmaker site is a free service that you can telnet into and capture the latest temperatures and forecasts for a particular city. Anyone who is curious can view the weather report with option 'U' from the Basement's main menu. I may add more cities in the future.

While this may not seem like a big deal in the age of the Internet, it's still fun retrofitting an old BBS from the 80s with such a feature.

Welcome "Erasmo Snock" to my BBS. It was nice to see you call. Please feel free to apply for a password and stay a while. Be sure to check out the games. Maybe someday, you can see the filez. :)

You still need to put your bbs IP and name in your signature and profile!!!
