The strange, bizarre MMF contest HAS a winner!

I was hoping that in the time between my 300th and 1000th post I would have at least gotten to 400 carts/games/variations for 2600. Nope, the well has run dry for me locally, and I've even had to resort to doing some buying at eBay (often at my own frightful peril). As it stands right now I own 342 Atari buggers, and I'm expecting 3 more in the mail within the next 24 to 48 hours. That means, for better or worse, I stand at 345 total - just 5 away from at LEAST getting to 350. Therefore I offer the users of AtariAge what may go down as the strangest, most bizarre, and ridiculous 1000th post contest yet.

Here are your rules for playing:

1. Guess the date on which I'll find #350 for my collection.

2. No double dates. If one is already taken, you must pick another.

3. One entry per person. No second guesses or alternate dates.

Here are my rules to make it fair:

1. I will intentionally not count any label variations from 345-350, and as such I will only get to a "contest" 350 by means of five unique carts.

2. I won't count any orders placed with the AtariAge store or anywhere else either (it would be very easy to pick up 5 either way). I assuredly WON'T use "reproduction" carts to jack up the total.

3. If I have a sealed in the box copy, I won't count a loose copy as a "unique cart" even though I'd still pick it up for my collection.

4. Last but not least, if I make any trades to acquire new and unique carts with members of AA or RGVC, I will disclose the terms of the trade and how close it brings me to 350, if not exactly or over. The date I receive my half of the trade will still be up to chance and the whims of the postal service.

Oh, and you want to know the prize? I think you'll like this one almost as much as pitfallaimee's panties if your a true AtariAger: up to $20 max, I will buy you the cart, shirt, or book of your choice from the AtariAge store (counting item price only and not shipping). One item per winner, whether it's a $3 RF convertor or a $20 game.

Start picking those dates! :D

I told you that they were dangerous.

Imagine what would have happened to them in the hands of someone like him.

No, on second thought.... don't. Not pretty.

And I've always been a poor wretched soul... panties can't change that.

At least not for the better :P

So let me get this straight, all I have to do is send you FIVE carts you do not have, post a date, and then make sure those carts arrive at your house on the date I posted? Oh man, this contest is too easy...... :P :ponder:

Actually, that would disqualify you from winning, I think - but go ahead and try if you like; I certainly won't stop you. :D

And I think I said "trade" for Atari games. I doubt in my meager stash I have anything a veteran Atari collector such as yourself wants or needs, and I also doubt any unique games I need at this point are below a 3 - I can't see you giving up five rarity 4's and up free for a $20 prize even if it DIDN"T disqualify you from winning! ;)

I acquired four new carts today, but only ONE of them was a unique new game - the rest are all LVAR and don't count for this contest. And since the 3 unique carts I ordered on eBay didn't show up in today's mail, the running total (as of now) is 343. If you guessed on or before today's date, you're now out of the running. To the rest of the contestants and any future date guessers, the race is still on! :D
