I am getting ready to test this all out. In that image I posted in the other thread, are there any must play games? Im mostly playing Demon Attack.

If I decide I hate all this stuff, you all have first dibs.

Now, how do I get composite out from this thing? Hooking it up to a 1084 would be nice.

I played Space Armada. Its, meh.

Demon Attack is pretty good.

I have lots of duplicate games now. I have all 3 tron games CIB though now, so that is good.

I WANT to like Space Armada since it is Star Raiders for the Intellivision, but the controls and feel of the ship are crap. I think if there was a game to be hacked for better controls it would be that game.

Demon Attack... lots of fun. All the Demon Attacks are fun, but the Intellivision got a unique take on the game, and the mother ship, which I think were only in the Intellivion and C=64 versions.

Tron Deadly Discs... awesome stuff! I can play that for HOURS.

Always kind of liked Night Stalker too.

And don't forget B-17 Bomber.

Space Armada like Star Raiders? I believe you're thinking of "Space Attack".

Space Armada is Space Invaders for the Intellivision, and IMO one of the greatest videogames ever.

Space Spartans is the Star Raiders game man.

Anyway, I dug into the box a little more. Apparently for what I have paid grand total for everything, I did pretty good. Maybe I can get that busted INTV fixed and have two systems.

Here are things of note:

I have a spare Intellivoice, loose.

I have the computer add on, and keyboard

4 games for it: Scooby Doo, Mr. Basic Meets Bits n Bytes, Baseball, and Mind Strike. Aside from the Baseball box being kinda wrecked, and scooby being smashed, theyre ok.

I got a sealed B17 bomber, thats only crunched in one place...

How many Intellivoice games were there? I have Space Spartans, Solar Sailer, B-17 Bomber, and Bomb Squad. They are all minty fresh.

I also got another Demon attack, Fathom, Ice Trek, and Tropical Trouble... I might have all of the Imagic games now?

LadyBug, and Turbo as well...and Carnival and Venture! And DONKEY KONG! Pitfall... another Utopia..

I should take images of all the games. I have a pretty massive stack of dupes now that I am looking to pawn off because they're in my way. I wasnt expecting this many INTV games.

I got a second Tron Deadly Discs also. So that was fun.

My big complaint atm is that these controllers really do suck. Sometimes in Venture, I move the disc around and nothing happens. My little happy face just stands still like an idiot. The side buttons aren't very responsive either.

Are there fixes, or suggestions for fixing this? I want to like these games but its hard to if I can't play them right.

I think I may actually have the entire Intellivision library minus one computer game... the other DnD game, and that other DnDish game thats not thundercastle

There´s 5 Intellivoice games and you have all, the fifth is Baseball for the Ecs.

The controller maybe had the mylar dirty or perforated, if are Intv 1 is very easy to open and check, if is Intellivision II controllers, be very carefull when opening, use no screws (pressure), and the parts of the side buttons tends to break.

The entire Intellivision Library is 125 Official titles, you can check those here: My link

Either way is a great deal you have there, you have some rare and expensive titles..

Hmm I dont have all the Imagic games then! But Im only missing

Dracula, SafeCracker, Swords n Serpents, and White Water.

Thundercastle definitely disappointed me. It looked cooler on youtube. Im not big on pacman-y games.

I have that loco motion game w/ box. It appears they need it on that site...

I have almost all those Intv. Inc games!

I found 2 videos from Youtube on how to open and fix some problems with the controllers, Both are a bit long, I think that replacing the controllers will take you a couple of minutes.

If you don´t fell with confidence with the removal of the mylar, you can only remove the cable with the conection to the mylar and ready to go.

Tron is a great game. I played yesterday! :)

I like Super Demon Attack for the TI99/4A the best.

Also, MicroSurgeon for the TI was better than the Intellivion version. Both where programmed by Rick Levine.

The TI version had voice... Wonder why the Intellivision version didn't?

It's great to see the Intellivision love around here.

Ok, I swapped the mylar disaster out of the broken INTV to see if the controllers were good.

Either I did something wrong, or they are broken too.

However, after messing with it for an hour or two, my interest has dropped significantly.

I had an MSX computer with a stupid mylar keyboard sheet with similar issues.

I cleaned the contacts, doodfed around, made sure things were lined up, and still can't play anything. Sucks since I have alot of good looking games sitting in boxes on my floor here.

The problem with this disaster is that you have to put the thing back together all precariously and whatnot. Ive actually got it working right now, the problem is, the controller is opened and im wiggling my thumb around on the mylar to move my guy.

All the buttons and directions work, but its unplayable still.

Im starting to understand the controller complaint alot more now.

This is irritating. All these spaceship games I want to play, but cant because of a really stupid controller design.

I don't want to complicate things further, but both the Intellivision II and "Sears Super Video Arcade" have detatchable controllers, so if a controller goes bad, you can just replace it. Furthermore, the controllers on those two systems are interchangeable. Some people like the Intellivision II but don't like the stock controllers, so you can put one from the Sears Super Video arcade on there. Likewise, the Sears Super Video Arcade (being an "original" intellivision of sorts) can play some games that Intellivision II cannot, so they are both great systems to have for that reason.

I'm really sorry your controller isn't working properly. If it's any consolation, I feel your pain as I've been there, done that. One of the worst things about the original intellivision is you can't swap out the controllers without opening the system up.

There's nothing like a good intellivision with well working controllers - don't give up, you've come this far, keep at it, soon you'll have everything working flawlessly one way or the other (even if you do have to spend a little more money).

Id rather not sink any more money into this to be honest. I wasted enough time trying to get the controllers working last night and got nowhere. Its to the point now where the problem is trying to put the dumbass controller back together so that it still works once screwed shut.

It works fine if I poke at it while its open, and hold it just right.

I know for sure I will be keeping Space Spartans, and the Tron games.

Everything else will probably be up for grabs in the near future (later tonight). I don't really have a strong urge to have this many games stacked and stored for a system that I can barely even try.

is it the controllers on this particular console?

or would you not like or get used to all intv controllers?

The controller itself would be fine if it worked. The general design of it is kind of stupid mostly because the overlays make the buttons feel less responsive... but it wasnt too bad overall.

The problem is that the controller isn't actually working. In Venture for example, sometimes the disc doesn't actually make me move. I have to smack it and shake it to get it to respond to movement. In Tron, eventually I couldn't move any direction but up and right.

I really want to give these games a better play. Space Spartans, Star Strike and D&D for example. But when the controller refuses to work, I can't even do that and it makes me angry. I have alot of other things I could be playing instead of wasting time fumbling with a bunch of plastic sheets trying to get them to cooperate. What do INTV2s run ? The controllers are better? Having these ones physically attached to the console is bad enough.

I am also really interested in the computer unit. The games for it look kind of dumb to me, but what else can the computer unit do?
