Massive auction - not mine

This is one of the largest collection of cartridges that I have noticed on eBay at one time for the Atari 8 bit computers. This is not my auction, but I thought someone might be interested. It ends tonight.

Wow! thats a pretty good setup, if I had the $$$ to spare, (yeah right, this time of year)...I'd probably go after it... since the 400/800 area of my collection is VERY lacking

That's an awful lot of $$$ for some pretty common carts. Maybe if they had a copy of "Jurassic Park 2" in there...

These are mostly common carts, but its the other 10 or 15 carts that are driving the price. So lets say around 70 carts are in the $5 and under category. Purchased in quantity like this, you would expect to get them for a couple of bucks a piece. So about 70 x 2, lets make it $150 for the 70 commons. Another 6 or 7 carts are rare and would sell in the $15 to $20 range. About $100. So we are at $250 total. Finally some of the ERs are worth $50+. This is where judgement comes in. Are those 6 or 8 carts worth $250? Maybe. Its not as crazy a price as you might think.

I happen to recognise the buyer and believe that he will resell these same carts individually on eBay. It would be interesting to keep track of whether he makes any money on the deal.
