Found Potential Rare Atari Games

Okay, I am The Father-In-Law (aka The Mother-In-Law's husband). When her dad bought these games, they were not "rare", just Atari games. I did not know him, as he died just after we met, and I mean like days after. From what she tells me, and what I have seen of this and his other hobbies, he was obsessive. All the instrcutions kept in a shoe box with homemade letter tab cards. I doubt he thought of keeping the boxes because he was not a collector, just going nuts on something he liked.

The Beat'em & Eat'em has a price sticker on it from The Micro Center for $49.95. More pix are coming. Clearer ones with the new camera I bought just to address the grainy photo issue.

Thank you for the information and for getting this forum thread back on the rails. We look forward to the photos!

AWWW...no fun on the rails..live it up a bit and enjoy the ride

Still trying to figure out why I need to verify what my childhood local video game stores were like...could someone be writing a book about this post????icon_confused.gif

Still trying to figure out why anything needs to be verified when simple requests for value and what would be the best place to sell them where made (although no post has given the impression that anything will be sold).

Bravo!!!! (though cjrocco mentioned wanting to sell them in the first post)

Mother-In-Law, you already said you aren't offended, but no matter what happens -- don't be, really. A lot of what you hear is just healthy skepticism due to having been both burned and having April Fool's Jokes nearly every year on this site... it's to be expected. No worries, you're doing just fine and thanks for being here.

Not to derail the thread, but just was doing some searches to try and find the history on K tel carts. Couldn't find anything on that, but found this link which is pretty informative on all the carts made for the 2600, especially third parties.

Wikipedia

Ktel released two games under licence, Vulture Attack and Spider Maze, both of which are Ultravision/Funvision games. When Ultravision folded, Ktel must've bought the rights to release the games.

They are not knock-offs, but legitimate releases.

I do not have a NTSC Suntek Catch Time, but I do have a PAL Suntek Mid-Time SS-018 :P :D

Bleh, cheap PAL knock-off :P :D

Yah, cheap PAL shit; not worth anything!!! :dunce:

He asked where the best place to go about selling them would be, not that anything was actually for sale.

I've noticed throughout this thread many people expressing interest in buying something and yet no response like "What would you be willing to pay for this game?" Nothing. Just complete silence. Doesn't sound like a motivated seller to me.

Edit: Where's the best place to sell my car? I really have no interest in selling it but I'd like the info anyway.

I hope she feels comfortable now that there has been 20 something posts about how welcome she is here icon_ponder.gif

Hey, nothing wrong with support so as to not drive her off, but thanks.

And by the way, I have absolutely no interest in buying anything for her. I already have everything I want.

I posted on the first page, give me Video Life. Why does everyone keep mentioning an April Fool's joke? I saw someone say it's "right around the corner" if by corner you mean like eight football fields because it's about three weeks away. If this was a joke it will pretty much be figured out in a few days. Anyway, looking forward to auctions if you post them, I really doubt I'd have a chance at Video Life, but I'll try!

and the other 280 have been from bennybingo...

Trying to set a record for most posts in one thread :D I have some catching up to do!

Not for anything, but I am new here and it seems that that is a problem for some. I have received more than a fair share of backlash for responding to the OP. With all of the derailments, it is no wonder that the-mother-in-law hasn't received much useful information here regarding the OP.

All of the nonsense going back and forth trying to verify if this is real is making me wonder what the point of this thread is. At this point, I hope it is a practical joke, because it will be of epic proportions if it keeps at this pace.

As for me, I'm done. Chances are pretty good at this point that if these carts do sell, I won't even get a fair chance. As it was so eloquently pointed out by Crazy Climber, nobody here knows me. I'm certain that that is just a small glimpse into what the inboxes of the-mother-in-law and cjrocco are looking like right about now, far away from the eyes on this thread.

Here are a bunch of new pics of the games. Also there is a copy of a letter from Atari about him writing to them asking about buying certain games directly, which I am assuming is how he probably got some of the games he has.

The games will eventually be sold but deciding how to do it, how much they will be sold for and when it will be done is a bit daunting when you are talking about 350 games, some of them very rare, and only a day and a half since my first post.

I like this guy. He wasn't just a hardcore collector but he was a hardcore gamer. This is the collection of someone that loved to play. Look at 'em, those games have been well played....boxes, who needs 'em.. just give me games and lots of them.

The only way i will believe this is not an APRIL FOOLS JOKE is if 'Mother-in-Law' posts a picture The Video Life and River Patrol carts on her boobs.

With her SS number written on them

And two forms of government issued identification. You know where.
