I find the 2600 version WAYYYY easier. Four extra upper case Ys easier. I basically only try for the hold Sphinx and invincible spells IIRC, as everything else is pretty weak sauce. When the game ended, i checked to see if i accidentally shifted over to novice setting, but it was still at standard. I think my high score was due, in part, to treasures i picked up and to all the beasties i shot down, especially at the sphinx. I don't think i got past the sphinx because i ended up a short distance before the sphinx again, so I assume it was because i lost a life. What happens when you get past the sphinx?
