nitrofurano
since when we were talking about picture conversions to Mattel Aquarius, some asked about editors, i tried to start one: http://pastebin.com/n9uMxYtW http://img51.imageshack.us/i/mattaq2screenshot.png/ for now, this is only a drawing interface test, a bit in the way of AsciiPaint (a .swf editor for xt-hercules text mode) or cge (a w32 Wine-compatible editor for mz700 ), and not saving or loading a thing yet, just needing some few code lines for enabling it (like storing the display area in an array for loading and saving, etc.) if someone want to take this code and doing something better, please do! jaybird3rd
Interesting project. I'll have to give it a try after I've cleared a few items off my plate. I began working on a similar utility for my own use during the development of the Aquaricart project (here is a screenshot). I've since gotten some ideas from others (such as chjmartin2) who have been working with Aquarius graphics recently, and I've got plenty of ideas of my own on how to improve and optimize it. After the Aquaricart is finished, I'll redesign it and spin it off as an independent project that other interested Aquarius programmers can use. chjmartin2
Nitro, Once you finish creating a save/load option, I would LOVE to be able to have my converter output a file that could load into your editor. Then I could do a conversion and then tweak a few items! Are you actively working on this? Chris
nitrofurano
chjmartin - yes, i started the editor this week, based on that map editor i code years ago (i think i told about it here in atariage forum somewhere) - my idea would be using only a simple binary-like format (2kb, i think), but i were thinking about using the format you used on your converter as well Edited March 18, 2011 by nitrofurano
