We're talking video game consoles and computers here, people. Not hard drives, printers, add-ons, etc. And we aren't talking *different* machines, either. If you've got fourteen 2600s, that's fourteen right there. And don't go sneaky counting Geminis or Sears Video Arcades, either. (Okay, if you do, I won't tell anyone.) But *do* count the different stand-alones (even "Touch Me", if you've got one).

I'll leave it up to you whether the "Plug and Play" systems count. For me, they do.

So, where do you land on the spectrum?

1- 4 port 5200

1- 2 port 5200

Took awhile but:

31 2600 incl sears, etc.

2 video pinball units

5 5200

3 Lynx

3 65 XE

6 600XL

8 800XL

58 counting functional, new(untested), dead, broken, & parts systems. :D

If it means anything to some(I really don't care), 15 of the 2600s are Sears units and they are proud of it. :P

1 Heavy Sixer

1 Light Sixer

1 4 Switch Woddy

1 Vader

1 Lynx model 2

1 78000

I still don't have a Jaguar or 5200, they are high on the list of things to get though, and I'm going to be getting one of each 2600 model. I didn't include a Sear Heavy Sixer I have as I thought it didn't count as Atari by the rules. I also haven't even thought at collecting their PC stuff. Just consoles at this point.

Too many Atari 8-bits to count.

Inadmissible! You must estimate, if too many to count. You must also break down the estimate (i.e. 3-4 800XL, 5-6 130XE, etc.).

Hmmmmm....... (roughly)

1 x 400 PAL

2 x 800 PAL

1 x 800 NTSC

12 x 1200XL + 1 on way

16 x 800XL PAL

4 x 800XL NTSC (one new in box)

3 x XES PAL

8 x 65XE PAL

4 x 130XE PAL

1 x 800XE PAL

Just curious...why does anyone feel the need to have more than one (working) of each system? ...I mean 31 atari 2600s? Are you afraid theres gonna be a natural disaster that kills half your atari platoon?

I have two working atari 2600's because when I bought the 4 switcher it didn't work so the guy sent me a heavy sixer. I found out how to fix the one that didn't work from Brad Koda at Best Electronics. So I have two.

Well, most of them are given to me because they're either unwanted or need work. If I don't take them, they get thrown away. I offer them to people who want one, but few do. Just for the chips inside, they're worth $20 + other parts. I have an arrangement with 2 local game stores. They won't take Ataris unless they are perfect. Sometimes they'll offer a couple bucks in-store credit for one if someone's buying lots of stuff. I do repairs on some of their later systems and they give me the older stuff that was abandoned or traded for free.

I fix them and get them back to full function and store them until someone wants them. They will not be $5-$10 decks though.

Nice! The game shops around here don't take them at all ever, so I "camp" outside and wait for disgruntled people to come out with boxes of stuff and maybe make an offer. They won't even talk to me inside the store when I ask about classic games, they're all about the new school (I meant the employees, not the disgruntled customers).

Not lately, though, times have been tight.

I'll end my unintended hijack of the thread with my observations while in the stores. People bring in Ataris and they get tested. If any flaw is found like power switch flaky or loose power socket, it gets refused. Same thing with anything older. The sad part is most of the customers just leave it there and walk away.

I have found homes for 2 of them in the last year, but still many left.
