cimerians
Found this game through a friend of mine. Looks a little more action based Minecraft: Website: http://www.terraria.org/ Anyone have this or play it? I'm tempted to get it for 10 bucks if its like Minecraft. Bruce Tomlin
Except that unlike Minecraft (written in Java), it won't run on Mac. (or Linux) So it doesn't matter to me at all.
Rex Dart
Right... except you're wrong. Anyways, it stinks. I played it for about three minutes and that was plenty 2d minecraft for me.

I guess I save 10 bucks. Did you buy it?
adamchevy
I've decided to try this on the Xbox 360 and I think it's pretty great!
Flojomojo
This is on everything, including mobile, Vita, 3DS and keeps getting included in humble bundles. I'm pretty sure I have multiple copies; I really should try it sometime.

This is from 2014, which makes me think it's not coming http://terraria.org/news/terraria-for-mac-linux-in-development
Punisher5.0
There is a free demo for Vita if anyone is interested. I ended up buying it for like $17 on Amazon and I think it's a good game.
King_Salamon
My son went from heavy duty Minecraft playing to playing this over the past few months. Seems like his buddies are getting into it. (They're 7 lol) But yeah, this game is on everything! I saw there's a 3ds cart... I couldn't imagine trying to read tiny text on that screen. My old eyes couldn't do it! lol I've played it a bit... I like the 2d aspect and I'd say it's fun to play around in the world and there are a ton of things to discover in the game. It's just something I don't want to devote time to. I have other games I'd rather play.

I have other games I'd rather play. After playing this for a few weeks I feel the same way. It's the limitlessness of these type of games that's both their strength and downfall. Maybe it's the retro gamer me, but I like an ending of some type. And if not an ending a high score that means something .

This is from 2014, which makes me think it's not coming http://terraria.org/news/terraria-for-mac-linux-in-development It shows up on my Mac steam library, so that post must really be old. Installing now. Just took a peak at the package contents. Looks like some hybrid of a native port and a few parts of wine to get it to run at first glance (the actually binary is an OS X one, but there are dll files inside too).
