Honestly I only collect a few things. I collect model trains (HO scale), and I also collect Laserdiscs. Of everything I own, (besides video games) I'm most proud of owning a Laserdisc player. And in industrial model at that. So far, I'm only starting to collect laserdisc movies. But I'm buying more and more movies. Though I have to travel an hour from where I live, to get the movies at a "old Format" store. But I will eventually, if I need to, buy some off Ebay. But it is quickly becoming my favorite format, past DVD's, Blu-Ray's, Etc,. Personally, I like Laseridsc's more. Laser_Disc-logo-0E486ECC96-seeklogo.com.gif

I have a large collection of autographed pictures (about 300 if not more) from TV Stars, Movie Stars, Sports Stars, Music Stars, Comedy Stars and Misc. people.

I can give examples of who I have if you are curious. . . . . . .

I also have a large collection of video tapes (over 200) and I can give examples of these to if you are curious. . . . . . .

Cebus - I love board games. I used to have the Scooby Doo game from the 70's - maybe my Grandma still has it! My kids play the Mickey Mouse Pop-Up game from 1982 all the time (it's a horse race - actually lots of fun).

I used to be heavily involved in 'RISK' tournaments when I worked graveyard shifts at a detention center. It got nasty!

I didn't know the dfference between "Lego - General" and "Lego - Lego Series", so I checked both. I collect 80's and early 90's Legos. Space and Castle sets, mostly.

I also collect music on vinyl, and 80's and 90's video gaming magazines.

I collect Coca-Cola memorabilia. It includes furniture, toys, lamps, boxes, cartons, bottles, and much, much more.

Odd question for you, but dose that include like the old Coke vending machines (with the door and glass bottles) ?

No. Me, being an upper-middle class 15-year-old living in a one-story house, cannot afford or have space for something that large. We did buy a huge Coke fridge for 300 dollars (It was made a few years ago, it's not an antique), but it was commercial grade, a power-hog, and very noisy. We are trying to sell it, but to no avail. However, I do collect many glass bottles and limited edition stuff, as well.

I guess for me I don't really permanently collect things anymore, but I still hunt for things to add to my digital collection of pictures of the items I experience. I think I'll have more fun making websites that share my experiences with particular items than actually holding onto everything.

That said I have enjoyed collecting:

video games - it gets expensive, takes up a lot of room, but offers some of the best fun you can get out of any of the following items.

music cd's (and vinyl or tapes when cd releases were not available) - I can get crazy with this one sometimes. CD's are so cheap in pawn shops and thrift stores and I like so many different artists.

dvds of tv series I liked - just have Dragon Ball/Z/GT, X-Men The Animated Series, and The Three Stooges so far.

plenty of action figures and a few plushes of certain kinds of characters - I've had GI Joe, Sgt Savage and GI Joe Extreme, but a few years ago I went after X-Men. For plush I just have a few Mario characters and Sonic characters - just Sonic and Nack.

retro crayons and similar art supply items - it's cool to be brought back to memories of being a kid using these things, and seeing the old colors and label designs they don't make these days. These I mainly just like the idea of scanning pictures of the stuff as I find them. Don't really plan on hanging onto them, but maybe just pass them along by re-selling them; or i don't know, maybe actually use the ones that are not 100% unused.

coins - my grandpa started me collecting when I was a kid but I ended up not sticking with it and trading them back in to him

seashells - haven't really collected them but have gathered some before. The ones I got when I was a kid were discarded because we put them in our garden and they became moldy.

I didn't see any options I could pick so I made my own:

What do you collect besides video games?

[ * ] Music - Strange high pitched ringing noise at night

[ * ] Sports - Finding the closest toilet after eating that jalapeño chicken at the asian buffet

[ * ] Trading Cards - Digging up that high percentage card after finding out although your Visa has $100 credit the transaction company holds $75 of it so you can't pay $30 gas to get home.

[ * ] Dolls - Real

[ * ] Lego - That numb feeling in your foot that makes you think you're going diabetic

[ * ] Movies/TV - Boycotting the MPAAFIA/Unplugging Comcast as they vow to snoop/police/throttle my connection to appease the MPAA

[ * ] Action Figures - Racquel Darrian taught me my kung-fu grip

[ * ] Antiques - Racquel Darrian because teenage dreams don't die: they just get in line behind feeding and undergarment changing!

[ * ] Advertising - Damn! Fly's open again..

[ * ] Figurines - That cute Japanese neighbor that's afraid to say "Good Evening" as we pass by. Probably thinks I watch loud porn all night for some reason..

[ * ] NONE IN THIS SECTION honest Officer! That's NOT my dime bag!

I have a modest collection of Garfield books, mostly the comic strip (Where my current goal is to get the first 20, pretty much all the good garfield strips) but any other garfield related books I'll nab as well. I also have a small amount of Garfield merchandise, including a weird massager.

My dad's favorite comic of all time. I found about 6 or so of the first collections a few years back (the long books) and gave them to him for Father's day. He loved them. I have a special place for Garfield because he will always make me think of my dad (who's a pretty great dad)! Awesome.

Guns!

"Ooooh - Guns, Guns!!! C'mon, Sal - The Tigers are playing tonight! I never miss a game!" (any guess which movie that came from?)

My dad also has a small collection of WWII guns (yes, in addition to some Garfield comics). He has a Hauser (I think that is what it is) that is in mint condition. Love them guns!

Magic the Gathering... Thats all I have to say... x.x :( So much time and effort into collecting those damned cards, and now... its just pointless to play with the new players cause of all the new rules and changes to the game. I don't like the way it has turned out and therefore have pretty much stopped collecting but on occasion when I see a pack of some old cards, Ill pick it up for shiggles.
