If the CV is truly a prototype and the one that came with the box, I would think it would have no revision letter or and A or a B. I have seen several Rev. C's Not necessarly, since there was a 1st prototype, that the 2nd prototype I'm pretty sure its the same board as a retail unit Also: the same serial number is hand numbered inside the purple box btw Edited June 22, 2011 by retroillucid
retroillucid
Its a REV.A board wich is what I was expecting Looking at the purple and silver system box, the only thing has changed is only the controllers So Coleco decided to removed the speed roller on controller, at that point (even before that) the SA Controllers were planned The Exp#1 is also the 2nd prototype, wich mean they also went to re-design the Exp#1 at the same time they removed the speed roller on regular controllers I guess it was only a question of marketting the system and accessories Edited June 22, 2011 by retroillucid

retroillucid
So to correct my own infos here's some updates: - Black & white Console is the very First Proto console - The Purple Box System (retail console with Speed Roller Controller) is the 3rd Proto There's indeed a 2nd Proto! I just recently discovered this! and no its not a joke, I'll post pictures of the 2nd Proto console and also prototype games boxes (Blue instead of grey) on our upcoming Museum Website Stay tunes! EDIT: I also discovered that the Coleco Intellivision games boxes were the ColecoVision ones at first! ... Amazing! What I mean is the Intellivision boxes were gray and the ColecoVision boxes were blue/purple The CV Smurf box is different from the release The CV Zaxxon box feature the old logo (seen in early press kit) The CV Lady Bug Box have a different logo colors differences Edited June 25, 2011 by retroillucid
Jordiway
I finally dug out my system and found that my sticker had fallen off so I had to glue it back on
the80sgamer
I found this post looking for the orientation of the sticker since mine fell off and I want to glue it back on. My sticker looks just like the prototype sticker but without a P number. I do have an early model though. My number is A0009090.
