RJ
I jumped in my chair at Rescue on Fractalus, Resident Evil, & Fatal Frame.
CatPix
When I was a kid, playing Alone in the Dark. Sure today it's crude and not that scary, but damn at the time was it effective. Everything in this game for me was a novelty; as monsters in 3D were much different than in 2D, and you were realisticly defenseless. Also there was all those traps and other weird stuff; now that I'm older and know the Lovecraft universe I enjoy this game more and get less afraid... I'm not so sure it's a so good thing ;o I remember the first time playing Silent Hill then Silent Hill 2. Wow, much fear in those games, from the atmosphere. On the other hand, Resident Evil never scared me, aside from the "BOO I'M A MONSTER JUMPING OUT OF THE CLOSET" effect, which is a very cheap effect (unless played well, or mocked like in silent Hill). For recent games, Project Zero (Fatal Frame - US title) scared me enough that I couldn't complete it. Also, Doctor Hauzer on 3DO have it's scary moment. It's not as good as Alone in the Dark, but it's certainly one interesting game to play. Some things in there are I think traps I have never seen before or after, and that's cool I guess Edited July 22, 2014 by CatPix
